His ZXR is kinda dead.
But its gonna have to be quite a big go kart if its got to house that engine, and i hope the chassis is going to be very strong.

Becasue imagine,
Normally in european countrys they have go karts that are 250cc 4 stokers, but they feel like they rev from about 1 -4k and have automatic gearing etc..

ow your using a bigger engine, with a much bigger power element,
this karts going to be a beast.

Dounuts anyone?

Rolling Eyes

When mike was on about a bloke wanting an NSR 125 engine for a kart i kinda thoguht isn't that a bit much really.

But your taking the piss, lol.

Hi

The 250 2 stroke twin race karts will manage over 160mph. The ZXR engine will be down a fair bit on power from those though.

Even the 125 gearbox karts tend to be very quick. They can get away with running them in a higher state of tune than the same engines in bikes.

All the best

Keith

Pics, specs and some quotes on superkarts:
https://users.cyberzane.net/rforker/ABOUT250RACING.htm

"Some commentators have likened this class of racing as the closest thing to Formula 1 without suspension! This class uses a twin-cylinder Grand Prix bike motor producing up to 90 HP. With an incredible power to weight ratio, these karts are capable of speeds upwards of 260 kph and can actually produce faster lap times than many V8 Touring Cars."

If It's the same one that was at winners then the one at Hullavington is infact a 500cc 2stroke.

So start saving up for one of those spare NSR500 engines that must be floating about somewhere now Very Happy.

The one at Hullavington was a 250 rotax engine.

Oh, if anyone wants them here are a couple of tiny videos from the other nights work on the kart. You can really see how light the ZXR engine is in Video 1. Mr. Green

Note: You will need > this < to play them as they are MP4's.

I hope that you won't be using 2-by-2 for the final frame, unless you paint it silver. Razz

Shit! and I thought you were goin to sell the ZXR. May be sometime next year if something goes wrong I may be interested in buying the rest of the bike off you zim, for a project to keep me busy.

Also what happened to the cb250 thing? It also looks like you two have started to make a completely new frame.

I've stripped it it down at the moment and making a list of whats needs to be done and what needs to be replaced, serviced, etc. I have no work area to place the engine so I'm going to start working on a workbench this weekend. if you don't believe me come round tonight and have a peak if you want and I've said before I'm not in a rush to do it I want to take it slow so I can take note more and do it carefully.

Fair enough I only asked.
