Just like a car, i'd assume you'd get lessons to learn the controls and the rules of the road, and then go out and gain further experience by yourself Wink

Regarding crashes, a visit to Hein Gericke or similar, and getting the right gear, will soon sort that element of biking out (providing you're sensible) Thumbs Up

If you keep crashing, then imo you need more training. Failing that, stop biking as it's not for you.

The trick is to be as fast and violent with as many of the controls as you can simultaneously.

It bloody won't. It might minimise your physical injury in the event of a crash, but it'll do sweet FA for preventing crashes.

The goal is not to crash in the first place. Not to crash but get off as lightly as possible.

Just wheelie everywhere, then the chances of you crashing is 50% less because you have less wheels on the ground, this makes it much easier to corner and avoid potholes and the like such a fast turn in on one wheel!

Warning. this may not actually be true lol!

Every second you spend on the roads you are in danger. The only way to limit this danger is to spend as little time on the roads as possible by going everywhere as fast as possible. True story.

That just reminded me - I once sold a bike to a guy who later told me that early every morning he would ride across the same junction at about 60mph. His reasoning was that he'd calculated the amount of time that it took him to traverse the junction, and it was so small at that speed the chances of there being another vehicle on that same piece of road at the same time that early in the morning were so small, that the thrill he got from scaring hmself shitless was well worth the risk.

I then pointed out to him that it was common for vehicles to park both sides of the road to the left of the junction, causing vehicles approaching from the right to wait - right across the road he was coming from. He changed his mind after that.

Just remember the following,

One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, one nod of the head, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, one nod of the head, keep moving. One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, one nod of the head, keep moving. And we'll all be merry and bright!

You can see why I had to give up the motorbike instructing can't you.......
