To be honest it, sounds to me like you've found that perfect balance between caution and confidence! Thumbs Up Get a big shiny lock for it and a Magnavolt kit!

Anyway, its good to see this thread still getting a bump towards its 5th birthday. A few dead links, but there's still a nice variety of small displacement bikes in these pages. Worth a browse.
Here's another shameless pose of the grubby little road pit. Just to bring the tone down Razz . Still going strong, and much better now I've got the carb sorted in what appears to be a more winter friendly state of tune.

I wasn't sure if a 140cc bike would count, it is registered as a 125 though? Rolling Eyes

Do you mind listing what and why?

I ask because I nearly bought one of these and read a few positive reviews, so would be interested to see what issues there were in real world. Thanks.

Going from a Gsxr 1000 to this is odd but this is so much more fun Laughing

I've been thinking, dangerous I know, but does the pit bike run all those lights quite well? I keep thinking about fitting a headlight to mine, not fussed about indicators, just wondering if the alternator makes enough juice to power them?

I need to sort out a baffle for the exhaust, after my mate took it out and threw it away when he owned the bike Evil or Very Mad and sort out the headset bearings, then get it ticketed!

I hope I'm not reviving a dead topic here, but it's my first post so go easy if I'm doing this wrong x0 )

This is my current (and first) bike, a 2011 Honda CBR125R. Completely standard; I think I'll leave the customisation until I've lost the L plates.

I weigh 7.5 stone for now it's plenty enough for what I need :0 )

Nice bike Bucky, welcome to BCF. Not seen a 125cbr in black before. Also, best mod for the bike you can make is passing the test and ditching the L plates. Adds 5-10mph onto your top speed Thumbs Up Smile

2008 Honda XR125 6L

I'm 6ft6 so needed a larger 125, but couldn't afford something like the Varadero.

My left moob weighs more than you do!

Your 125 will be quicker and handle better because you are light, so that's got to be a win.

Nice bike, very nice. Shocking exhaust can though.

Thanks for the kind words! I've been riding a few months (did the CBT in January, bought the bike in Feb) and I can't get enough.

I think Honda list the top speed as 70 mph, but it goes a bit quicker than that ;0 ) The can is completely standard; the silver bit is a cover fitted over the actual exhaust. Sounds quite meaty for a 125 though!

My DAS is booked, so hopefully I can upgrade to something bigger soon.

Sorry for uber late reply Flad.

It seems too fine. I do have a battery which I suppose helps buffer, and despite LEDs all round (except headlight) I still find I need to rev the bike a bit for the indies to flash properly, but other than that, its all good at night.
Personally, I'd want a full lighting kit on any road legal pit bike. Solely in an attempt to deter plod from consuming your life's minutes Police Sleeping .

I've just recently swapped my heavily baffled can for a more open pipe as I just couldn't get the engine to breathe properly, seemed to bog and really splutter up the revs.
I miss the stealthyness, but it runs so much better now. Thumbs Up
