Very nice Thumbs Up , I have the 250 and was thinking about how I could tidy up the back end, you seem to have done what I want to do!

Nice exhaust (clean and stainless) where did you get that?

Just a tail tidy mate and a bit of trimming to the original rear.

Exhaust was originally bought from a company which i will not mention due to shoddy workmanship. My exhaust was modded by a good friend that makes these.

You should join www.ukhyo-ownersclub.co.uk

Great site for info on mods.

Pretty nice looking for a 125.

What kind of performance are they? hp? top speed?

125 performance.

14ish HP

Top speed varies, 60mph > 80mph claimed.

I've seen 82 down a hill 2 up with a GPS with "minor fiddling" on the engine/exhaust/carbs

Yeah, I was expecting that lol. Not too bad I suppose considering the hp restrictions.

I suppose it's a bit better (just a tad) on acceleration due to the v?

Very Happy I'll probably do that, could always throw the 250 engine in it for that bit extra

As Paddy states around 14 HP but not had it on the rolling road since all the mods.

The exhaust opens it up a lot along with desnorkled filter. Gone up on the pilot and main jets along with shimming the eclip on the needle. I have had 80-85 out of it but in to the red. Well impressed with it and superb to handle.

Like it, and like these bikes in general. If you get your test done you could always step up to the 650... They are dirt cheap and pretty damn good bikes for it.

Cheers guys Thumbs Up

I do like the hyo 650 and would be tempted when i pass my test. On the other hand i have always liked the SV650 so will be a tough decision.

Still not finished with the mods yet but nearly there now lol. Going to fit renthals, new pegs and attempting a mod that will remove my front light unit, sort of half faired. All the parts on the way, will just take a bit of planning to make it all fit.

As already said, great bike and you've done a really nice job...out of interest...why the new engine? The motor is pretty solid usually.

I had the 250r version. Loved it....and that was directly after my fireblade!

I was told my front cylinder had low compression to servicable limits. At the time i was trying to determine if my running issues were engine or exhaust. My engine had 19.000 miles on it and i was quoted a couple of hundred to sort the compression. I found an engine with only 4000 miles on it at an amazingly cheap price, to good a bargain to miss so bought it and swapped them over.

Been a while since any updates and there have been a few....

I went from naked to half faired. Headstock had a plate welded to accommodate the upper fairing bracket

https://imageshack.us/a/img24/30/photo1046.jpg
https://imageshack.us/a/img40/4737/photo1073.jpg
From half to full faired

https://imageshack.us/a/img822/5692/photo1102u.jpg

Then i decided to put a 250 lump in, got a nice chrome one from a GV250 and this is how she look now. Chain and sprocket have been replaced with a more heavy duty one not shown in this pic.

https://imageshack.us/a/img208/9971/photo1138w.jpg

Lots and lots of extras have been added during the course of the build and the bike has come a long way from the first pic at the start of this thread. 250 lump gives the grin factor and i am very happy with the performance.

After the MOT this month the bike will be being stripped for the final time to have a full paint job including the frame and wheels. All plastics are being vinyl wrapped so hopefully it will be ready for the good weather next year.
