What colour you going for on the wheels and swing arm.. black again? Considered yellow wheels for mine but might be too much!

Black, I think yellow wheels would be a step too far Laughing

Didn't have time to check the wiring loom today - gave it a wiggle but couldn't get the indicators to not work. Changed the rear tyre, didn't take any pics as everyone knows what a tyre looks like on a wheel.

I needed to "test the gearbox" so gave the knackered rear tyre a send off https://forums.watchuseek.com/attachments/f73/935361d1358197688-absolutely-drool-worthy-burnout.gif

No comments about the jeans coming from the 80s. Razz Middle Finger

Colours on your camera look rather washed out, overcompensating for bad sensor in low light? I wouldn't worry about unless they are actual snow wash from 1985.

It's a lot better than I remember it. Fairly grunty for a 600, and I think the new head bearings and fork rebuild have made a world of difference to the handling.

Not going to do much to it for now. Now that I have a second road bike again I can take the Sprint off the road and do some work to that while the weather's crap, then when the weather improves I'll ride the Sprint so I can powdercoat the wheels, swingarm and footrest hangers, and paint the bodywork.

err, I think all the powdercoating was £180, new wheel and discs £100, various bolts probably adds up to maybe £30 at a guess, paints etc. probably £20, new swingarm for £25, calipers £15, headlight was £30, drill bits/tools I didn't have etc. maybe £40

So just under £450, less than I expected tbh, and I've got old wheels and spare bits & pieces from it I can sell to get some money back.

I may have missed it but when removing the swingarm and top/bottom yokes for powdercoat, what bearings/washers, etc if any did you replace and do you have to?

Top of page 5 is head bearing fitment, I used a taper roller bearing at the bottom, and normal ball bearing at the top, as there's a funny stepped down top seal on the Hornet instead of a flat one. Swingarm hasn't been powdercoated yet, but I think for the spindle pivot it uses a needle roller bearing one side, and sealed bearing the other, and one of these is a expensive for what it is.

Which reminds me: headbearing kit £20, David Silver order (fork seals, bushes etc.) £80, so £550 in total.
