Although my son was sensible enough to go pillion from about 8-10yrs of age it was only when he was 10yr that he was tall enough for him to reach the pegs. My daughter on the other hand was tall enough at 8 yrs but onlt took her on the back at 12yrs.

How tall are you, I need to know.

Tall enough to fit under my hair while my feet still touch the ground.

My kid is around the same age but I keep talking myself out of it. I keep thinking of the story my mate told me when he had his son on the bike and stopped at the lights...next thing his son is on the deck, luckily the bike not moving, the daft sod had fallen asleep!!

I'm certain I'll never take my kids on the back of a bike. In the event of an off I would never forgive myself if anything serious happened. Neither would any of my friends or family.

I'm not saying it's wrong to do it for anyone else, it's just how I feel.

I loved going out with Dad on his Norton from about 6 or 7 years old. It made me feel so special and important.

In her state, I would suggest that it's a bit late in the day for protection. Bolting the stable door and all that!
