Do clothing manufacturers typically bring out a bunch of new stuff each year? And if so, what time of year does the "new season" normally start arriving?

I have some pretty specific requirements for a jacket, and I haven't found anything thats exactly what I'm looking for (I have found stuff thats kinda close but not perfect).

If I put off buying anything until next spring would there be a lot of new stuff about? How does it work with bike clothing? How often, and when, do companies bring out new ranges?

They probably change the design slightly from year to year but why are you so hung up on having the latest gear?

Just get black leathers as they never go out of fashion and go with every bike

Yeah generally new stuff every year, sometimes small updates and sometimes full revamp

If you wait until after the Milan shows in Spring, you can often pick up a bargain from last year's collections that will complement your pretty pink mangina.

Who said I was hung up on having latest gear? I just want a reasonably plain textile jacket which fits, without having to have it custom made.

The ideal way to buy gear for riders, if they want new is to buy summer gear in winter and winter gear in summer.

That way the clothes are being sold off as they are no longer in season, also the new seasons come in when the seasons change simple as that.
