Do DB killers affect performance? The reason i ask is that before last night id only ever rode my bandit 6 without one in. Whilst its still plenty fast with it in, it feels just that less.......scary. Bear in mind its the first 'Big' bike I've owned but without the DB killer the power delivery seems much more frenzied. Perhaps the noise added to the theatre of it? Either way i felt comfortable cracking the Ton (albeit only briefly on acceleration) with the DB killer as it seems so much smoother.

It slightly changes the way gases pass through your engine so it "could" have an effect on power delivery, that said it is probably just a psychological effect because of the extra noise.

I tend to ride faster with the baffle in because I feel like I am drawing less attention to myself.

Hi

Will depend on the pipe.

Marjay found a massive difference with his Triumph Daytona with the baffle in / out. On my played with 1200 it made 5% difference (and the bike is set up for the baffle out).

With the Bandit the extra 5% isn't anything you would notice. What you do notice is it being far more lethargic at low revs when cold and noticeably pulling less smoothly below about 5k.

All the best

Keith

On my Speed 4 i noticed no difference at all, although it was a cheap g-force can.

With my f650 there is a huge difference. With it out the power delivery is a lot snappier, so much so it made it harder when i greenlaning in the mud. Its also a hell of a lot louder, obviously.

Yeah this is exactly what i get. the power just seems to come from nowhere whereas with the DB its a gentle progression.

Its not amazingly loud without it, but it is pretty throaty and certainly loud enough to get noticed, especially the popping on deceleration.

I had two baffles in my Daytona, a road legal stamped one and a triangular 'Db killer' in the other end. When I had them in the bike was dynoed at 80bhp, with them out it made 115bhp.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
