hi all,i bought a project bike a month or so ago and sent of the v62 form to gain a logbook v5 as the seller had lost all paper work and dint know the reg as it has been passed through a freind of a frien as an unfinished project.

on the v62 form it asked for the reg which i dont have so they have now returned it asking for the reg number.

ow can i obtain a reg number i have the chassis number and engine number thats all.

I imagine that armed with the frame and engine numbers it would take the DVLA approx 10 seconds to find the registration number (if they could be bothered to look). Try phoning them and if you manage to get someone that can speak English then they may be able to advise you of the hoops that you will need to jump through to obtain the information that you require.

Have you looked on the tax disc?


Semi-serious reply as there may be an old disc holder either on the bike or amongst the countless boxes of "parts" that come with any half-finished project.

you can ask autocheck from experian for the reg number for free. Yoo have to email them.

Or there is a guy called Yodi that will do the look up for reg number at cost.
