well some of you may remember my old cb650 rat, and her getting wrote off when some div SMIDSY'd me https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=229843&highlight=

Well heres some pictures of the old girls replacement, its a '95 gsx600f rat.

https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/GSX%20rat/DSCI0064.jpg?t=1322663258
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/GSX%20rat/DSCI0063.jpg?t=1322663013

Future plans include a bandit 12/gsxr750 rear shock to lift the back end a bit and give more adjustment, and eventually a bandit 12 engine, however ive recently lost my job so thats on the back burner for the foreseeable future unfortunately.

Cheers
John

Do you not need a mud guard for the bike to be road legal? Quite liked the pointy one you had...

Front mudguard isnt an MOT requirement unless removing it reduces the structural integrity of the front end, the fork brace was on for MOT and as such it passed. I did however get a standard mudguard back on it this afternoon to stop the coils getting wet and cutting to 3 cyl in the rain, and preventing a stream of rainwater being thrown into my face from the front wheel.

The spike on the back would have been an mot fail and to be honest i didnt like the look if it so i went with the ammo tin tailpiece and use the numberplate as a rear mudguard.

Nick, the seat is definatley going to be reworked, theres no way on earth id be able to ride it to the dutch ratbike rally in amsterdam like that.

Cheers
John

Just out of interest, how much did this set you back?

Front mudguard is a legal requirement. Not an MOT tested item but is required under the Construction And Use Regulations.

yeah katriders compatibility threads has certainly planted the seed of more horsepower and better handling.

The headlight has been lowered a little bit now to stop it being so high up, also welded in a nut and bolt for headlight adjustment finally. however when i lowered it the mounts meant the already stretched choke cable from the renthals became useless leaving my choke half on at all times. I disconnected the choke cable and attached a hand grenade pin to the left hand side of the carbs to work the choke, job done.

Also, my friend gave me a roll of vinyl hazard tape so now the frame and top edge of the belly pan is yellow/black striped Laughing

Hopefully will be fitting the kerker race pipe tomorrow if it doesn't take too much bodgineering.

Cheers
John
