New tyres came in so fitted the front wheel to slightly stagger the scrubbing in process Smile

Lol I was petrified, that was the first time I'd ever been on track! I made limpets look about as grippy as Teflon! Getting there now, unfortunately there aren't any pics of me hanging off Sad

All from today, great day, really enjoyed myself and even overtook a few people!

I should hope so on an R1! Laughing

Nice pictures though, though as said, try to hang off a bit more and get your head lower, practising on the bike with it on the side stand is a good idea to figure out where you need to be. Also it looks like you're letting your feet dangle down below the pegs which is a definite no no, if you ever do lean enough to touch your pegs down if you hit a bump or a rumble strip with your toes you stand a chance of breaking your foot! You want to pop the balls of your feet on the pegs, helps with pushing down on them for weight transfer side to side as well.

You'll get there in the end! I've only done two track days but you're still leaning more than a few people I've seen Smile

I'll keep trying, I know at first I was still a little too upright, by the end of the day I was hanging off more with my head lower and found I was carrying loads more speed (a good 10 or 15 mph in some places!)

Hope to get more in next year, it's been a little hectic with changing jobs this year so missed most of them Sad Looking to go to Cadwell very soon though Thumbs Up

Fitted the Ti system, runs great, but will keep an eye out for any symptoms of it needing rejetting. Only thing I will say is it's loud!

When I fitted my Ohlins shock I very quickly realised how much the front forks needed doing

https://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/WiNot_Rhencullen/Workshop/BikesBikesBikes358.jpg

So I fitted Ohlins springs with Ohlins 5w fork oil to the standard air gap and it made the world of differance

https://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/WiNot_Rhencullen/Workshop/Picture470.jpg
https://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/WiNot_Rhencullen/Workshop/Picture483.jpg

The thicker gauge Ohlins spring is on the left.

Setting up the Ohlins shock is more tricky though.Once you have set the correct sag, start off with the clickers in the standard positions otherwise you can go around in circles trying all sorts of combinations. Then go 3 clicks at a time per clicker to see if you are going in the right direction and make a note of what your new setting is so that you can go back to where you were at any time.

Cheers, fitted it the other day, the front is still way too stiff so having it set up by FTR in Bury St Edmunds in the new year, they'll be getting me the right weight Ohlins fork sprins to match, so should be all good for a year of track action Thumbs Up

In other news I'm in the process of closing a deal on a new set of headlights to replace my cracked one, so should be fog free soon enough Smile

Cool, how much have you spent on this little beast now?

I swear your bikes spend more time in bits more than they are together Laughing

No idea lol I think I've probably chucked about £1500 at it with the titanium system, Ohlins kit, seat cowl etc

I doesn't spend that much time apart, last time it was was for the exhaust and before that was chain and sprockets and tyres in September!

Will the new system effect you much when it comes to sound testing or do you think it'll be okay?
