Fucking hell, I hope its just a case of not being a teenager anymore or something. I can insure a Thunderace for 360 even with just my 2 years ncb as i stand today, but an R1 of any era is grands and grands

Hopefully if there is a funeral, it won't be until at least 2066 and it won't be my fault if its earlier!

Insurance is going to be an ass, have to declare my claim as ongoing, which makes it £1133 fc :'( something to do with being very high risk, plus I live between 3 pretty crap places for theft (plus here isn't great, small farming village, quite a few thefts of farm equipment)

I've had a look for if I didn't have a claim etc, £650ish fc with a couple of extras (riding other bikes etc)

Decided to have a look for a steering damper, braided front lines and a stock or clear screen, and will probably leave it there, its almost perfect as is Thumbs Up

My non fault claim did the same, just seems to mean you get anally raped for doing nothing wrong and for the negligence of another road user.

Either way, you'll be fine. I think the sheer, 'holy shit' factor will keep you in check lol.

It's legalized theft isn't it?! How can they justify the innocent parties insurance going up like that? We're no more of a risk than before as we WEREN'T AT FAULT!!!!!!!!!

I think you're right, plus it's a massive chunk of cash to throw away for being a prick, so will hopefully keep that in mind.

That's horrific, admittedly, I'll have 4yrs, and I think being under 21 or 25 bumps it up a bit anyway, but as I said, legalized theft, and the other side won't even make up the difference for their driver being a cunt.

Anyway, to make Paddy happy, got the camera out quickly, should have some better shots soon Smile

That is in nice condition. It does seem a bit strange to replace the rear brake hose with some Aeroquip and not the front though.

The Brembo master cylinder on the rear brake is standard as compared to the standard front Nissin master cylinder. This is the same setup as I have on my '01 R1,although I now have fitted a Brembo adjustable front master cylinder, which gives far better feel to heavy braking.

Have a look see at www.yamahar1.co.uk

Cheers, I thought it odd too, but who knows, old one could have been damaged or something?

I did have a look around and saw it was standard, was your front Brembo m/c from another bike, or did you have to buy it new?

I'm already on the R1 forum Thumbs Up do you use the same user name there?

Also, having been advised by several people (some of them being owners, some being very good racers) to get a steering damper, I got one on eBay, as new Ohlins with Harris fitting kit (916 style) for less than the price of a new Sprint unit Thumbs Up

You can't beat the old skool r1's. Always my faverite bike.

You will only find it twitchy if you bang the power on coming out bends or roundabouts.

Good choice on the damper.

It was £242 delivered, not bad seeing as its in as new condition, and it has the Harris fitting kit too. I think brand new they retail at around the £400 mark, plus whatever the fitting kit costs.

Loving that Billing, in the best colours too. As said put the standard undertray/lights back on and it'll be mint.

A poke in the eye? Laughing

Cheers, glad people approve the colour choice Thumbs Up

A new undertray (just the black plastic bit) is only about £80 new from Yamaha, so something to consider, going to play with PhotoShop though, I might just spray the current one gloss black, so it stands out a little less, but if anyone is willing to do it while I'm at work it would be much appreciated though Smile Thumbs Up
