Since going mad on my other project nc30 I reckon that there's enough spares in my garage to build another nc30.
I want a 'clothes horse' to wear my fairing, for whenever it goes off to get painted, to save taking me taking the main project off the bench too.

The plan is to build it to a nice standard without going too OTT and try and use as many of my spares as possible.

This is how far I've got.

The old bottom yoke has been bead blasted and zinc coated (new headstock bearings and seals though).
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0664.jpg

Swingarm spindle and nuts etc bead blasted and zinc coated.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0670.jpg
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0668.jpg

Spare swingarm cleaned up quite nicely and all torqued up
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0667.jpg

Old hub came up well too, very minimal damage to the teeth and the bearings feel fine.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0671.jpg

The pinch bolt (blasted and zinc'd) that was for my main project until Kayla and her titanium temptation came along.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0672.jpg

Caliper hanger, has a tiny bit of corrosion that I couldn't get rid of.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0673.jpg
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0675.jpg

My old kick stand, I cut the mount for the rubber off, too bent and rusty to save. It will be stripped and zinc'd. The fairing mount has a tiny crack in it too, so that will get welded.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0677.jpg

And this is how she sits at the moment.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0678.jpg

But not for too long, I want my bench back! Lots of parts are getting zinc and anodising and I have all the front and rear suspension with wheels so hopefully she be rolling quite soon.

Hi, my names Tim and I'm a Hondaholic

I know, what a shed that bike is Wink

Rooted around for a chain guard but I dont have one so I decided to make one. This was the biggest bit of ally I had, so I made a template to suit.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0747.jpg

All cut and bent to shape, just the holes to drill now.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0752.jpg

All fitted, drilled and tapped the swingarm to mount the other side.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0758.jpg
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0755.jpg

Just needs a lick of paint now

Also lashed up a sharkfin guard but that needs some spacers turned up to fit that

The shaft has only loosely been put in as I've not finished the rear disc yet.

Cheers all

It's actually quite cheap, its only cost £30 in zinc for everything for this bike so far plus some extras. Bare in mind I get a good finish by media blasting all parts before getting them coated.
Its a small firm not far from where I work, dont even know their name, I just drop in every few days.

Seeing as it going to be a trackbike with a daytime MOT I made use of the spare keyless ign barrel and smashed lhs switchgear .

I will wire the ign up as a flick switch
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0790.jpg

The only wires left from the switch gear are for the horn (needed to be road legal) and clutch switch.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0792.jpg

Organised the garage to have a spares stock check too
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0786.jpg

Nah Cool

Got the new ign switch wired up, the earth is for the led in the switch so it lights up green when the bike is turned on. Just need to make a mount for it to go on the top yoke now.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0795.jpg

I did test it on a bike and it turns everything on but the battery died before the motor fired up. Didnt see any resistors or diodes when I took the barrell apart so it should work fine.

This latest project is coming along nicely Tim.Good to see the same meticulous attention to detail as your other projects.

Cheers Thumbs Up . Yeah Bill does seem spot on, took real time to answer all my questions, and made it quite clear not to bead blast anything thats to be anodised in the future Embarassed

Got a few hours in and got a friend to weld a plate into another spare top yoke for the new ignition switch. It will go off to the anodiser's and will the replace the one that is on the bike.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0798.jpg

Painted the rear disc, so I got that fitted.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0815.jpg

As well as the rear caliper, and I also found a braided brake line and fittings.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0819.jpg

All the front fixings zinc coated
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/IMG_0817.jpg

How the bike stands now, the rear wheel is just placed next to the bike.

Great work Thumbs Up

It's good to see someone that doesn't skimp on any part of the bike! So many people just skip over stuff but your attention to detail is really something to follow.

Keep it up!

Bolts for the side stand arrived, had to buy those. Honda love their fine threads Rolling Eyes .
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/image1.jpg

Now I have a rolling chassis. Am waiting on a few bits from the anodisers now, clip ons etc.
https://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/Timon1983/VFR%20nc30%20trackbike/image-1.jpg
