Sad to see but it happens.
I'll have to get on FB and find some pics of my MZ Skorpion under its new ownership, needless to say the fact that he had to buy a new swing arm because "the chain came off and wrapped around the old one bending it" gives you an idea of what to expect ____________________ Current: 02 FZS 1000 Some Bike Pics...

What a great thread, great to see people who geniunely care about their YBR125s, I passed my CBT in one day just over two weeks ago (26th Jan 2014 - Pissing rain and wind) having never ridden a motorbike before in my life and so far I've not had any regrets at all!
I got my YBR125 that following Monday and I love it, lots of things to get used to, subtle engine behaviours that tells you a story as you ride it. It has a few niggles that I'm working on sorting out and I fully intend to use the guides that _Iain_ has put up.
The list has been growing:
1) throttle control rotates on the bar, interfering with the front brake lever - SORTED - It wasn't a case of tightening the bolts, had to wrap a bit of helicopter tape around the bar to give it a bit more grip, I suspect the throttle control isn't stock...
2) Horn button isn't the stock button, seller soldered a "BMW Booster" button on and screwed it in underneath, bit of a bodge job but it's bloody loud! - Pic to follow for lols.
3) Stock exhaust pipe rattles! - ARRGHH so annoying, not affecting performance but can't justify a GPR pipe for £250 so maybe a random can and pipe (so long as I can just bolt it on and don't have to faff with anything else)
4) Chain is a touch loose - Need more maintenance time please! (I work 6 days a week, Sundays are largely spent sleeping and doing light maintenance)
5) Investigate front sprocket - I think the previous owner or seller might have already dropped the front sprocket down to a 13tooth as I can happily pootle along the flat at 60-65mph and I've seen an indicated 75mph (Downhill, wind behind, screaming engine and rider. you know the score - only did it once O.O')
All in all, easy jobs to sort
By the way, I'm 26 so I'm not a silly-sod.
My YBR125 is the 2nd-half 2012 model in black with a red stripe on the tank and is pretty much 100% stock, bought with 3400 miles on the clock for £1350 - Bargain imho! |

Great thread, packed with info. thanks Iain for taking the time to do write-ups.
I was looking for some weighted bars ends/guards for the stock bars. Could anyone point me in the direction of some proper weighted bar ends that would fit? I don't really want to hack the grips around to look/measure.
Thanks ____________________ Yamaha FZ6 S2 |

As a new YBR owner this is amazing I owe you a pint.
Question - my stands/swingarm are rusted to fuck. Any ideas on how to clean them up so they don't rust themselves into nothing? |

This is my airbox after a week commuting 110 miles total In shitty weather. The bike gets hammered in every gear. Hence oil changes every 1,000 miles
It is pretty much standard. Just clean it out weekly and make sure the little bubble connected to the airbox is not full.
I bought a £4.99 delivered from China air filter off ebay 10 days ago.
It does not fit without some use of a file to get the warped plastic to shape into the grooves of the airbox and lid.
Lesson learned.
The original is 6 years old but only done just over 5,000 miles.
Washed it out with petrol and kept as a spare. ____________________ Yes I'm a pig....And yes... The working public do pay my wages. Tho I contribute to your benefits you lazy c##t. You do not pay my wages. So go fcuk yourself. |

I can imagine, I've had a mg, Mini Cooper a, impreza..jumps up each time. Was say behind a guy today, filtered past him at lights and he overtook me in dualler.....drove 30 whole way into town, kept checking his mirror, really liked holding the Learner guy up. Blasted him at a lights (inside, my bad but this guy was a tool) thought if only I had a few more horses before my opportunity, he was playing a game ____________________ YBR 125, Bandit 600, Er6N, Honda CB400 Super Four |
