Eh?!
The whole point of fitting the renthals was to lower the bars. The renthal bars come in various different specs, if you want high bars then buy renthal's high bars, dont buy low bars and put spacers in em ffs! Completely and utterly defeats the object. The only reason renthals "streetfighter" bars are called as such is because they're real low so as to raise up the bars from clip ons whilst retaining stock control cables on the bigger bikes. The renthal high's are identical, but higher. It's all down to personal preferance.
I'd gone and measured and out of all the 7/8th bars figured they'd be the closest fit to what i realy wanted.
It is however not a case of "buy renthal streetfighter bars, coz they say streetfighter it makes you a fighter building badass"
Alpha, if you look on renthals page they've got full specs on all the types of bar they make. The YBR's a 7/8 fitting, but they do many different specs, widths, height, different sweep etc - have a look, get the tape measure out and sitting on the bike work out where you want your bars to sit, that'll work best for you & compare your ideal set of measurements to the renthal catalouge and work out what they make that's closest to what you want. If it's too wide - hacksaw time ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

YBRs dont have a man enough generator to handle hotgrips.
Mebbe try the scooter specific ones by oxford, but the proper oxfords just drain the battery out before they get propperly hot.
Any bulb holder can be fitted, just chop the plugs off and put different ones on innit. Any round headlight that fits in the mounting points will work. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

My oxford grips were bollocks from day one!
Paddy will vouch for generator not being man enough. You get about 15mins of lukewarm and then the power light goes red & flashes and the grips get cold. Thats on an EFi bike w/a 55/60w headlight.
Oxford grips, ybr125 no worky. Tried, tested and full of fail. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

My grips are R&G got them for christmas innit
Do either of you use a motobatt or have you got a shit battery Iain?
I found the stock battery would drain from so much as failing the electric start a few times, the motobatt is bloody brilliant, bike started first time after being in pieces for 2 months
I don't want to chop any looms, if anything i'd by extra wire that attaches into the original connectors then chop that up rather than damaging OEM parts...
Any links or hints on the halogen light front? "just chop the plugs off and put different ones on innit" doesn't really help unfortunately (plugs?!), but thanks ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |
