So what do you guys prefer? I prefer the look of naked bikes, but wouldn't mind a nice fairing when the weather turns for the worse.

Same, like e original thread.

I like faired bikes, but will one day own a sporty naked or supermoto hooligan mobile.

I clicked both. I love my half faired bike but I did also love my full faired one. Next I might have a naked one. (If mrs pinky allows me to buy a BKing)

Loved my GSXR, but love my Hornet more. Next bike will probably be a 'blade.

Makes a nice change, seeing a beast of a machine sticking out. Cool

Redeko - how come you loved the Hornet more over the gixxer? Interested to know.

Just more fun and easier to ride?

I'm not really sure. Obviously it has less BHP and not as much in the top end, but speed on the Hornet feels a lot more threatening on the Hornet than it ever did on the GSXR. That's where my rush is. Not to say I didn't have fun on the GSXR, just that the Hornet had so much more feel to it with the wind being in your face and the upright position.

But on the other hand I've probably become a lot more confident in the time I've had my Hornet than my GSXR and have got it over further so it might be that.

I wouldn't say it's 'easier' to ride, but in general I find it more fun.

This by all means doesn't suggest I don't want another faired, my next one is looking to be a faired to bring the experience I have onto a sports again. But at the moment, especially over winter, I've been commuting to Uni so haven't been able to let rip in a while so the Hornet is also a lot more comfortable than the GSXR.

Both, but don't like semi/bikini fairings too much with the exception of Buell and TL1000S that is.

Completely agree with all said here, as much as I loved my VFR I have grown so much more confident on the Hornet. I think that's because of the upright riding position though. As said I would love to have a go on the VFR now I know what I am doing, well sort of Laughing

Voted for naked, for the time being I am sticking to naked bikes, well until I can get the VFR back and running. Will most likely have a bit on sports bikes at some point, but no time soon

It all depends on what sort of riding you do.

Round town, b-road blasts, sunny day jaunt... unfaired

For wet, cold, year round, long distance, high speed... faired

I voted faired because whilst I try and fit most of my riding in the nice days, I do long trips and you stay fresher for longer.

Depends on the bike. Whilst I prefer naked, stuff like this :-

https://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201002/2009-triumph-speed-triple-1_460x0w.jpg

https://www.motorcycle-usa.com/photogallerys/large/ducati_Monster_796_18.jpg

is ugly and needs to go behind a fairing.

I haven't owned full faired one yet but it looks so hot riding full faired big bike on a congested road in Summer. So I prefer frame mounted half faired one.
I sometimes wonder if ER-6f's lower fairing works for wind protection or not. It's so slim bike that rider's legs aren't covered so much.

I voted both as it depends on the bike and what I would want it for. I prefer the look of naked bikes but for a commuter or for lots of motorway work fairings are very useful.

If I had the bike just as a toy I'd get a naked, fairings disguise speed rather well so the extra wind on a naked should help me to keep the speeds sensible.

A big naked like a Speed Triple, z1000, CB1000R or Tuono is what I'd be looking for as my next bike.

A lot of it is down to the appearance of non-aircooled engines.

I suppose earlier motorcycle engines were as good as always fully exposed so having an overall shape that looked pleasing aesthetically was at least part of the package, I always think cooling fins look rather better than bare skinny watercooled lumps with flat sides. Just little things like a nice polished set of engine cases also add to the appeal.

That and a lack of external plumbing, electrical and other pipe work.

With the majority of modern motorcycles being covered up the appearance of the motor isn't seen as being part of the design criteria as you just don't see them on a lot of machines.

I don't particularly like full fairings and acres of plastic as I think bikes start becoming too car-like when they go to those lengths, but I do appreciate a decent half fairing. An exposed engine alongside that with good access is nice too.
