Hi lad's, this is my second thread since I joined this forum, so I'll give you all some background information before I ask this question.

2 years ago I took my CBT and brought a brand new honda CBF 125. less than a month later (Mostly due to in-experience and driving like a cock) I ended up in hospital having a splenectomy after I locked the front wheel up whilst going way to fast around a bend.

As soon as I could I got back on the bike and was riding again, albeit in the same torn gore-tex suit and scuffed lid.

2 years later (after my bike being off the road for lack of funds for a year) I get the bike back on the road and find I am in dire need of an entire new motorcycle wardrobe and could do with kitting the missus out as well.

Now I'm the kinda guy who likes to try before I buy, to ensure I get exactly what I need from an item, and this is where I run into most of my issues.

I don't know of any decent sized "supermarkets" for lack of a better word, where I can go and find everything motorcycle protection under one roof.

Kit is easy to find online but I can't try it on that way, so my question is this.

Do you all know of any large "supermarket" type shops where I could go and try on different items before I decide on what I want to buy?

Is there a sort of "Mecca" of bike clothing places anywhere in the country. I don't mind driving lands end to john o'groats to get there if its worthwhile.

It seems everything is online based now, and all the places I come across have ten different items at most to choose from.

I usually go to J&S in Doncaster because they have a massive selection.

Where do you live? We might be able to help you a lot more if we know that.

I live in northamptonshire but spend quite a lot of time in London visiting friends and family so anywhere around those 2 area are good, but if there is a decent, highly recommended place somewhere else I'd gladly travel, I need to wham a few miles on the bike anyway! lol!

I have just found out there is a hein gericke not too far from me, that'll definitely require a visit soon Smile

There are independents like "Bikers World" near Birmingham or there are shows like the BMF at Peterborough or the NEC show (that is rubbish.) or the Stafford shows in spring and autumn.

There is a getgeared.co.uk shop in Surrey which is decent. Range of products is really good and staff are helpful and clearly used to kitting n00bs out. It's just off the M25 if you are down in London

I live around northamptonshire Very Happy

Theres a Triumph in Wellingborough
World of Bikes in Corby
Northants Hein Gericke, friendly bunch of chaps, use them quite often.
Mick Berrill in Northants town centre, a small kinda local shop.
John Lee's in Higham Ferrers

If you do want bargains, i'd do Ariel said and go to a BMF event, great prices to be had. Visited the Hein gericke stand last time and got a goretex adventure jacket for £20 Very Happy Next one will be around september time.

I think it's shit. They should stop hiring blonde birds with big tits and hire some people that actually know something about bikes instead.

I always go to Alpha Motorcycle in Leigh as they do me a good deal, there is harpers along the road a bit and another bike shop about half a mile on from that. If you go to Alpha ask for a guy called Ade, he knows what he is talking about and will do an alright deal. Thumbs Up

Hein gerick in northampton is CLOSED ...............
I live in wellingborough and go sometimes to get geared if you fancy getgeared go onto the website call them with what you fancy in size and colour and ask them to put them in the shop at a date your going to be there (when weather is fine) as they have some good gear but the shop cannot stock all of their internet stuff !!
I like a ride so hinckley has a motorbike shop in the centre up the A5 look up on the internet drayton croft,to see what make you fancy spada have nice jackets at good prices £100 mark.there is no supermarket like places for motorbike clothing best to check out a few websites and see what make and price range takes your fancy,as they say do your homework prior to buying and don't be afraid to ask for a discount if your buying a load of stuff in one place. Also daventry has a suzuki dealer who has a selection of gear up stairs.

off point a bit, but the A road from there to Warwick is a nice ride into work of a morning. Cool
