Long time, no post...

My father in law has bought my son an old offroad go kart which, it turns out, has binding brakes. Being an ebay purchase, there's no documentation whatsoever.

We've already had the Caliper off, given it some grease, out the whole tug back together to no avail, so I guess it needs replacing or a proper rebuild. However we don't know the part number of the caliper. The part numbers on the pads are no help, seemingly referring to parts off a bigger brake (TT2450GG)

So, after a days fruitless googling, I turn to the BCF hive mind. Does anyone recognise this calliper?

It's single pot, and the pads are retained by a single pin at the top, and springs at the bottom. Manufactured by Nissin, obviously.

Only other marks on it are "88" in a circle with "3" underneath it (build date perhaps?) which are part of the casting and "8c5" stamped into it.

Yeah i looked that up off the part number but looking at pics the Golding parts don't match. However overnight I had a mail that identified the parts as being off a VTR1000 and looking at the pics that seems right (and corroborates what salty21 said)

Thanks all.

just been looking through some old pics of my bikes and the caliper you have seems to be a little different, the bleed nipple and banjo are the other way round on both my bikes. i dont think it will matter too much though as the body itself seems to be identical

That is the same as the rear caliper on my CBR6f - banjo/bleed nipples in the correct place too.
