I paid something like £15 for my rear stand on Ebay. Used it a couple of times and its been fine. Feels sturdy enough.

I got one of those red tubular ones which does OK for a 125 - the bloke I got it off said he kept his 650 on it during the winter for some reason..

Any cheapo one, I picked one up for a tenner. Get the hooks for it, and bobbins for your SV if it hasn't already got them.

Don't expect it to be as sturdy as if the bike was on the side stand/centre, if it had one.

I have a Motrax one that the ZX7R sits on.

It is chunky and solid and has a retractable handle thingy that makes it nice and easy to use.

They are £25 at J&S Accessories at the moment.

Do you have to get bobbins fitted to use a padock stand? I'm going to get one this week to make cleaning my chain easier.

No, though it is preferable and more secure. I've used the cup type on my Hornet, Babyblade and Daytona and my mates bikes (he's been through a few!)

Got paddock stands meself, don't like 'em, you really need a mate with you to get the bike on and off safely. Much prefer an ABBA stand, a bit pricy but come up on Fleabay regularly, A bostin bit of kit !.

Sorry but don't agree with that. The ZX7R weighs about the same as a small elephant but I get it on and off the stands no problem, never had an issue.

Stick a block of wood under the sidestand to bring the bike as near to vertical as possible then it's easy.
