New to the forum, so just saying hello.

Love racing, have an R6, live in Cambridge although I'm working in Moscow until just before Christmas. Hence I have a bit more time to kill on the internet!

So hola.

Oli

It's an experience! I find it quite a strange city in that it is a real mish-mash of the good, the and the ugly. Whilst most cities have suburbs that are very posh next door to suburbs that are quite rough, Moscow is like that on a building by building basis... gorgeous, brand new luxury flats and next door will be a graphiti infested rough tower block. The street underneath has Porsches parked next to 1970s Ladas. It's certainly different!

The people are funny as well. Service is poor and staff generally unhelpful and rude, yet get them out of work and on a 1:1 basis they literally could not be nicer. I got lost in the back end of nowhere a few weeks back and one lady waited with me in the snow for 15 minutes to make sure I got the right bus, then just tootled off into the night.

It's certainly worth a visit. St Petersburg is more picturesque, but like all major cities Moscow should be experienced at least once.

Only thing is that it is currently under 2ft of snow, so it feels very wintery. Roll on 2013 so I can be back home and out on the bike!

Hi and welcome Oli, this certainly isn't motoforum but a man of your experience is a welcome addition to the Racing&Trackday Section of the forum.

Just be aware the trolls bite.
