Chris the Great Yarmouth beach cleaner referred to in the article is none other than Chris Ireland, legendary custom builder and former owner of Desperate Dan's Customs in the 1980's. Chris is an extremely talented engineer but as mad as a box of frogs.
Be interesting to see if the Isle of Man team get a mention, they beat the record for a 500cc special on a blown 500 Manxman.

I caught it by chance last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Including the bit where I scoffed at the mentioned "danger", then laughed uproariously when they detailed "nine deaths since 1948".

Considerably less dangerous than crossing any high-street in the world then. Laughing

Looking forward to next sunday's, if I can remember.

That was good. I also didn't mind when in the background they played 'plinky-plonky' comedy music when the chaps were talking technical.

Yeah...Liked it.

That was possibly the best biking programme I have ever seen. It really put over the passion of riding a bike and the kinship that it brings. Thumbs Up

It was a great program, and was interesting and also partly a little sad to see and hear about some of the characters involved too. It certainly has given me something to think about work wise, and what I need to do this year to ensure I stay in the right place and get my biking mojo back too!

Would that be the same bloke that the narrator introduced as Chris Ireland, next to his name in 2-foot high letters, just before they mentioned he had a nervous breakdown?

If it is, why are you telling us again?

Thanks for the heads up, I rather enjoyed that.

Got a bit of a proud face on just from sharing the same tiny damp island as those chaps.

Brilliant tv. Even if you're not into bikes, gotta admire the skills. nice to see some eccentrics on tv who wouldn't usually get a look in (well down the list after people who like to dress as babies, or live in dungeons, or...etc etc

It was pretty damn good. It didn't 'dumb down' the biking parts as a lot of programmes like this do.

Only downside I saw was Bill Nighy's plodding commentary as if he's on the BBC world service, but had smoked a huge joint beforehand.

I especially enjoyed the home made blast furnace next to two huge calor gas bottles! Laughing

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
