Hi all I'm new here, so this is my first post, so be kind Smile
I am 38 and just purchased my first bike.
I was wanting something small, a commuter, something I could tinker with, modify a bit.
I found a Honda H100a advertised, which was up for £500, it had already been tinkered with and modified, I ended up paying £270. So here it is..

As I got it
Single seat conversation, single Speedo, bar risers, twin front headlamp, bullet indicators, bullet brake/tail lights , modified side stand, brake pedal with the ignition relocated to the air box panel.

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/NitroCowBoy/DSC_0701_zps96e8de2c.jpg

I have had a change around with the plate and rear light, as I didn't like the side set up. I've changed the grips, added new mirrors, re painted the side panels, wired in led plate lights and re wired all the indicators, as it looks now Smile

I wouls suggest sticking a pair of clubman bars on, it would suit the cafe racer look alot better than a bobber style.

You've never meet my ex wife!? Laughing

It will no doubt get changed, I wouldn't restore it to standard, I would imagine the cost to be more than its worth. I have been looking at various mods and do like the cafe racer style, who knows? For now I'm just going to ride it and enjoy it Wink

Needs more tassels!

Personally I'd lose the sidestand, change the bars for clubman cafe racer bars, get rid of all the extraneous red lights on the back, fit a single round headlight and call it a cafe racer.

You could do all that and still have change from the original £500 asking price.

Ditch all the lights, an H100A will not power them.

Single tail light, single headlight, no indicators is the best way of having useful voltages.

It works all the lights ok, I don't think i need to keep all 3 reds though!

Is it legal to run no indicators?

Have you tried riding it in the dark? lol

Yes, on a 1980 bike you can legally not have indicators. My 100A doesnt have them.

I've had it running in the dark, I have read the stock lights are a bit shite, so was surprised at how bright these were, it does struggle to get the indicators flashing when the headlights on though Laughing So taking them off would sort that Wink

The stock lights are shite because it's a 6v direct lighting system, having more bulbs just lowers the voltage even more.

(though I'm currently trying to work out why mine is putting 18v out to the lights)

The first time I've ever seen a bobber/ custom style H100, and also the first off roader H100 I've seen too. Different and possibly ok too!

I think an MT5 or MB5 is the best place for a H100 engine though, but a café racer style one could work really well too. There was a guy on here building a GP100 café racer, which would look similar, but it seems to have disappeared or been forgotten about now.

I imagine who ever built this, was a Harley rider, that built it for their wife/child as a learner bike. I kind of like it, it's fugly, fun to ride and very cheap to run..
Cafe racer maybe in its future, but for now I'm just going to ride it Very Happy

Few updated pictures of this,

Bars and clamps have been changed for CBF bars/clamps, this improved the handling of the bike and feels a lot more comfortable to ride, giving a more cafe style to the front. I have cut down and re located the indicators, which are now fitted to the headlamp brackets.

The throttle has also been replaced with a h100s throttle and cable (re placing the bodged twin cable set up)

I'd imagine that your in agony riding it now, until you get some rear sets fitted?
Would look good with a satin black expansion chamber exhaust too.

Its not too bad, the rear shocks are really hard, off a much bigger bike! sat up the ride was very hard on my back, no so much now I'm lent forward, the knees are a bit high so I'll defiantly need rear sets sometime very soon, hopefully I will be able to make my own, nicking ideas from previous cafe racer build threads Thumbs Up

I'm not too keen on the expansion chamber exhaust Rolling Eyes So will more likely stick with what i have Wink
