Highly reccomend going up two on the main jet, and swapping the plug out for one grade colder. Can then really spank it without it nipping up. Also, wemoto sell a refurb kit for that carb that isn't a lot of money at all.

Top work though Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Failed the MOT on Friday. Embarassed Stupid things, nothing I can't sort.

One issue was the enduro style rubber plate hanger was fouling the rear wheel.. Hence the new rear light set up. I had to cut the back of the seat to fit over the light, measured twice, three times. get the misses to double check and cut once Thumbs Up

The other issues where an iffy light switch, bit of WD40 sorted that.
and brakes, new shoes on the way Thumbs Up

Nice work indeed! Well done with the transformation into one of the nicest 100's I've ever seen!

Did you decide against the rear set's in the end? I still can't help but think that with those bars and std foot pegs/controls, that it must be a bit uncomfortable to ride?

Dropped the engine out of my Honda today, after a weekend rideout to Ramsgate something went on the ride over, troubles getting into 2nd and 5th, with grinding noises, I managed to limp her home in 4th. The gearbox oil had metal flakes in as does the gearbox..

Start of a full strip and rebuild..

Once your gearbox cases are flushed out and any damaged gears or bearings are replaced, is the next post the one about an Athena 125cc big bore kit? Thumbs Up Laughing

Engine is stripped and crank cases have been split open, the culprit is the input shaft bearing has blown... Confused

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/NitroCowBoy/BIKE/Honda%20rebuild%202015/11110965_10153315657609020_4867332826336758804_n_zps1gi6mpkm.jpg

Clean out the debris and as you see the outer race is still seated in the case, but the debris from the blown bearing has gouged and smashed some of the casing behind the bearing.

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/NitroCowBoy/BIKE/Honda%20rebuild%202015/11406908_10153315688424020_1559762523359539261_n_zpss28b7end.jpg

This is a picture of the same area, from the Haynes, showing the bearing in situ, there also looks to be some kind of pin in the center. That has been seared off on my casing, its the piece shown in the first picture Embarassed

Eeesh, that doesn't look good Sad

Fair play to you for getting in there and diagnosing it though! Thumbs Up

Is that something that can actually be fixed? Neutral

The outer race left in the casing can certainly be removed and replaced with a new bearing, I'm not too sure if the lack of the locating pin will affect the engine if rebuilt, I would guess it would be a weak point and blow bearings regularly as the input shaft has nothing to keep it central..
This is just my thoughts, I'm going to rebuild it and test the issue Confused

I might be thinking along the lines of another casing from breakers and replace all the bearings. On the other hand you might get away with thorough degreasing patching alloy with chemical metal and a new bearing..

On further investigation it seem the little pin that's sheared off is an oil feed for the input shaft gears... Not looking like it's fixable.. I will be looking for secondhand crank case or complete engine Confused

That's shit news mate, gutted for you! Sad

I'm guessing not an engine that's going to be particularly easy to source either? Confused

Maybe time for a power transplant? Make a positive from the negative Wink
