Some of the Sarf East went to Lydden Hill for a track day.

We had a racer with us, but for everyone else, it was a first attempt.

Goals were to survive and not be as shit at the end as the start. Thanks to some very helpful pointers from BishBash and Carvel, I got better and had a fantastic time. Really enjoyed it, mega day Thumbs Up

Up at 5am was a bit brutal though Smile

Felt quite calm until we saw someone bin it on a sighting lap Shocked

Got to Keswick thinking the season is definitely turning now, getting chilly. It had warmed up nicely by the time I got to Wasdale, and was like a fine summer's day, but was cold again heading home. I'll have to start putting some warmer gear on from now methinks.

Feeling very frustrated at my lack of chances to go out for a spin, I did ride my bike around my front drive today Shocked Laughing .
I was however moving junk around in the garage so the bikes had to come out.

The forecast on the beeb website said it would be dull and overcast today,so a few friends suggested going out on the dirt bikes today.
Typical beeb got it so wrong....again Cool

Was out with my regular riding buddy who giving his new KTM SMT990 a shakedown ride. Basically, taking the R1 on roads which would be better suited to a supermoto, but doing R1 speeds! Local wooded roads in the Cotswolds.

Got the RSV out for a hoon around Berkshires finest back roads this afternoon. Looped from Windsor out to Henley via Twyford and then onto Marlow taking a few detours in between. Marlow bridge was closed so I doubled back the same way I got there. Took a slight detour to my favourite kneedown roundabout and got some practise in. Mega fun.

Stopped by the river in Marlow for a rest, perfect riding conditions.

Yesterday I did ride the Timber Woods Long Distance Trial run by the Sidcup DMCC.Rode about 100 miles around the highways and byways of Kent, starting and finishing at the Kent Gliding Club near Challock.

Not today, but the other day. At least once a week I go up to Market Harborough to visit my dad who is in a care home there. Not the nicest of destinations but the roads in that part of Leicestershire and a bit further north into Rutland are truly lovely. Well worth a trip if you have never been to that part of the counrty Thumbs Up Took the 636 last time, gave it a good beating.

Haven't been out on a bike for a couple of weeks, so today I thought I'd put that right and did a 500 mile trip to Scotland. Froze my nuts off in a pea-souper through Glasgow on the monotonous motorway which is the only way I can get a decent days riding in if I'm to go beyond the southern uplands, but then, was beautiful from Dumbarton onwards.

I'll pretty much let the photos do the talking, as I'm too knackered to say much.

Torver Biker Breakfast - near Coniston this morning, came home via ambleside and Kirkstone pass.

stayed in Eskdale for a week, and rode Wrynose and Hardnott Pass which was nice.

My little CRF250L was used as greenlaner on Saturday weekend before last, then on the Tuesday, put the saddle bags and sat navcharger on it, and rode it from Bedford up to the lakes and all around and back down again. Tyres howled a bit on the A1 though.
