Seemingly despite my best efforts I'm finding it terribly difficult to give photos and videos away for free these days. Maybe I'll start charging to see if that makes me a more viable option for people Laughing. To be fair, the original thread I made in the North section offering photos of a bike was almost instantly followed by a foot of snow around the the whole country a month ago so I don't really blame you lot for not taking me up on it Laughing My bike is currently in a deep sleep in North Wales awaiting shiny trinkets and some mechanical sympathy so I'm short on bikes to shoot at the moment.

Anyway, Popee1985 registers an interest and a date is set, changed, then set again and the ball is rolling. Dilyan threatens an appearance but decides at the last minute that an hour each way on the motorway at 2 degrees is not a recipe for a good evening so opts out! Popee1985's bike looks to me like it just rolled out of the factory despite being of 2004 vintage and reminds me just how much work I have ahead of me to sort my bike out in the next few weeks! General discussion about bikes and life in general follow while I snap away and play around with my flashes which have sat unused in my camera bag for months while I've been learning how to make my pictures move.

Here are the photos I took, I think they came out ok:

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0654_zps9185e87a.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0657_zpseb513525.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0664_zpsda6b7829.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0673_zps0a18679b.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0679_zps859a372e.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0686_zps656d6f26.jpg
^^This one is my favourite^^

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0690_zpsa843d106.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0691_zps0bb909d9.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_0696_zpsae9cf8af.jpg

And with that I pack up, say my goodbyes and head home thankful for an enjoyable evening.

Which is when I get a phone call from Popee1985 asking me to check the photos on my camera to see if any are missing a left hand mirror Laughing Somewhere along the way his bar end mirror had fallen off and made a break for it. Having confirmed that the mirror was still attached in the last photo he was left to re-trace his steps and hunt around for it only to find it under a car about 30 minutes later! I'd of stayed to help but I was already on a tram home when I got the call.

This has lead me to believe that I must be cursed when mixing motorbikes and cameras. Most recently there was the time I went to take some scenic photos of Manchester and on the way home my mate was smashed off his bike by a drunk driver. Before that there was the time I took some photos of the Midlanders on Anglesey track and Mac Kalibas rearset mysteriously fell apart on the corner I was taking photos of. Before that there was the time I took Ghost out for a ride and he threw his bike up the road. And even before that there was the time I organised a BCF meet in April only to have unseasonably cold weather and snow.

Beware all ye who approach me on a bike when I have a camera in my hand Laughing Laughing

I admit to being a pussy!

REALLY nice pics.

Picked the VFR today from Oldham. Temperature ... -1! The pain, the agony.

Rob,

Pleasure to meet you and I have to say top job on the photos with the time we had.

Compared to your other photoshoot mishaps I'd gladly take a missing wing mirror and a night in the dog house instead Smile To be fair I'm blaming myself for this one; The mirror fitting instructions clearly stated "Use locktite or check screw tightness periodically" I did neither, that coupled with lots of ACF50 and the results were inevitable.

Dilyan, yes it was bloody freezing last night, I only had jeans on so the wind was biting, although not as cold as the reception when I got home late!

My favorite pic is the 5th one down, although I would prefer it if I wasn't in it!

If the two pics before the last one weren't in the original Ducati Monster brochures, they needed to be!

Yeah to be fair it's not the worst thing that's happened around me on a photo shoot and there have been plenty of other camera days where everything has panned out fine!

I'll be getting my bike back in order soon and have missed big ride outs. Maybe I'll try and organise another big meet like the Welsh ones I did a few years ago and just tale photos of everyone's bikes when they're not looking Laughing

The second location works MUCH better, from a photographic sense. The ambient lighting in the background just works, where as the dark and uninteresting background seems to be a little off putting in the first.

I'd have been tempted to set up a tripod for your camera, and try flashing all over the bike and surroundings for a single composite image with a perfectly lit scene. But that's just me Mr. Green
