I have a PC that was new in 2009.

I recently upgraded the graphics card, and needed to fit a newer psu to get it to work.

Occasionally the PC would crash, which I took to be the psu being overloaded so I turned settings to a level that kept it from crashing.

Then a month or so later after a quilt may have been covering the vent on the psu, it died for good.

I've bought a better psu, but it doesnt come with the right connectors, so I'm wondering if you lot know what the leads are called and what to look up on ebay. The last psu I bought did say it didnt come with any accessories that may have been supplied with the original.

The connector missing is one that goes to the mother board, it's what i'd call 2 x 2, in that there are four plugs 2 side by side.

The recent psu is a corsair cx750

It's just an auxiliary power supply. Two yellow & two blacks isn't it?

Cut the old one off and solder it into the molex 4-way hard drive loom. Yellow is 12v and black is 0v.

yes two black and two yellow.

I dont trust my soldering and bodging skills.

I want a connector that someone else has made.

what would such a connector be called on ebay ?

something like this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IDE-Molex-to-SATA-Power-Supply-L-Plug-Cable-Adapter-/180608062987?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item2a0d14560b

or this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-inch-Dual-Molex-LP4-to-PCI-Express-8-Pin-Auxiliary-Power-Adapter-Cable-PC-052-/280863082870?pt=US_Power_Cables_Connectors&hash=item4164be8976

but those dont have the 2x2 that i need

EDIT

could this be what I need ?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Standard-Molex-to-4-8-pin-Adapter-/221216353693?pt=UK_Computing_Drive_Cables_Adapters&hash=item338185ad9d

Here you go 8 pin to 4+4 pin which will allow you to use one of them for your mobo

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Single-Braid-8-Pin-EPS-to-P4-4-4-Cable-Blue-/310671734990?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item48557a78ce

Another one that will match the black if you want?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ATX-12V-PSU-8-Pin-to-8-4-4-Pin-Black-Sleeve-Extension-Cable-30cm-/300646938191?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item45fff4364f
