New bike arrived today

https://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/rac3r786/FirstSF_zps07ac10c9.jpg

Mr. Green

After a 70/80 mile ride I love it. Needs adapting to definitely though

There are quite a few differences to the Street Triple but for me the one that was the biggest is that the Ducati is very planted and as such needs more input to turn, especially at slow speeds (as I found to my embarrassment at a mini roundabout Embarassed ) The riding position is also more aggressive, felt strange at first but I soon settled in. Weird thing is you can see the front wheel Laughing

In regards to riding a thousand (this is my first 1k) like everyone said it's pretty tame....until you open it up Shocked You can pretty much use any gear you want for any speed, as long as you are above 3k revs it's damn smooth and power is instant. My favorite thing is cruising along then opening it up to hear it snarl (sounds fairly good with stock cans). Brakes are awesome, lots of feel and have a very sharp bite to them so you have to be weary of that. However my rear brake doesn't work for shit! Couldn't even hold me on a very slight hill so I'll have to get the dealer to sort that

So first impressions are good and will hopefully get better!

Mods planned are 2-1 exhaust and open clutch cover

Termi's are over £1k for slip ons! I'm going for the SC Project 2-1, half the price and lets you see more wheel Cool

I heard some guy in the shop say the front looked like it had been smacked with a shovel Laughing

As a side note I just realized the dealer messed up the reg, he put 08 instead of 09 Brick Wall

Zards are about the same price and don't really look that nice. Options are Arrow stacked pipes or SC Project single

Arrow

SC Project (In Titanium)

Bike looks cool. Cool

I think out of those two exhausts the SC project looks better.
Do Mivv make an exhaust for the streetfighter? they make some nice looking ducati monster pipes.

Mivv do make some nice exhausts but the ones they make for SF dont look that great. They only do them in the GP style but they look long on the bike

Apart from the obvious power difference, how does it compare to the Triple?
Please tell me it has a better full lock turning circle. Confused

Haha you wish! Turning cycle is worse, especially at slow speed it feels like you have to lean more (as mentioned about the mini roundabout Embarassed ) However it could also be the bars which are much more aggressive, I'm considering Rizoma bars which bring it a little higher and closer but I'm gonna ride it a few more times once the rear brake is sorted to see how it is.

As for other differences, typical Ducati stuff such as being lumpy below 3k and the clutch can start to feel heavy in traffic. Surprisingly the ride is much smoother and the bike is planted. I never had the suspension set up on either bike and the Triple would get a bit twitchy on bumpy surfaces, this just carries on through. Front brakes are frikin immense, lots of 'feel' and loads of power.

I've always been a Ducati fan but the noise is just awesome, rip open the throttle and you hear like a roar from the induction and then the sweet burble on the over run. Can't wait to change the exhaust and release some moooaarree! Laughing

Power wise it pulls in any gear, for tight twisty roads 2nd gear would take you up to 80 easy. It's stealthily quick and when you give it some it's stupidly quick. Also I don't know why but my chicken strips are the smallest they've ever been

Basically if you like smooth and effortless then the Street Triple is for you but if you want something more responsive and involving/aggressive you'll like the SF. I would still probably say the SF848 is the best balance though because it has less power and is slightly more comfortable (although I haven't ridden one)

If you want more specific responses let me know

(everyone keeps telling me it looks the same as my old bike Laughing )

What do you reckon on the Mivv GP cans in Titanium?

https://www.ducati.ms/forums/138-streetfighter/135641-my-winter-upgrades-completed.html

or stick with SC Project single?

The Mivi GPs look pretty good imo, they 'lighten' the look of the rear end nicely. Thumbs Up
Cheers for the comparison btw, by your account it would seem the Triple is still the bike for my level of riding. Wink

Looking lovely. The SC can is gorgeous. If it were my bike I would certainly get that one.

Like it! What you say sounds just like me going from the STR to the 999, needs more effort to turn but is so planted, bumps don't faze it.
After a fast ride on the duc I can feel it in my legs, using them more to get the bike turning. The Arrows look good, bet the sound is too. Does it have adjustable steering head? Mine's going onto the poity setting this weekend.
Enjoy it.

Thanks! Sounds pretty damn loud, I will have to push it down the road if I'm out at stupid o'clock Laughing I definitely prefer it in every way to the ST. Apart from maybe ease of riding at slow speed which the Triple easily wins but I might be able to fix that with different bars

Don't think it does have an adjustable steering head, maybe the S does. Next mod will be a Tuneboy as the fueling is shite low down
