Why are you trying to please anyone but yourself anyway? I say, if you like it, go for it. Plus, personally, I think its hawt (Ok, that blue springs annoying me, but only because it was pointed out Razz)

The exhaust look a bit OTT, would rather have the pipes route under the sump then kick up behind the rear sets, exits facing out slighty, like |||N30|||'s AR exhaust on the BMW.

The paint scheme, well each to their own. Bit too "hot" for me, prefer a more basic colour scheme, matt black with white touches or something. God rear sets to match forks, gold sprocket/chain you know.. small things.

Can't wait to see the outcome though, regardless of the state Thumbs Up

That's hideous. I can only imagine it appealing to a Sunny Delight-saturated 10 year old with the unquenchable horn for whatever the current trashy low-end anime du jour is.

Student loan goes in, student loan gets spent!

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/20140111_131301.jpg

There's £350 worth of stuff there:

Titanium disc bolts all round
Titanium sprocket nuts
Talon rear sprocket
Renthal front sprocket
DID X ring chain
Full Samco hose set
Brand new cush drive rubbers

Got some stainless hose clamps on the way to go with that. Also got £150 order from Suzuki containing seals and other bits I'll need.

When I'm next home I'm going to take the yoke and forks off. Give the forks a quick oil change. Then knock the bearings back out the swing arm and get a load of parts to be taken to be powder coated black.

Even if I put fairings on, then a black frame looks more modern.

I'll also contact the soda blasters and see if I can drop the engine down to be blasted. Found a colour for it as well which I think is close to the original, then can go with gloss black covers as it is standard.

Ever ridden a big twin before? I'd be a bit cautious spunking all your money on tarty bits when you might not like it.

Looking at your bike history it's been with revvy IL4's instead of tractors.

Saying that, I didn't mind the R I rode, preferred it to the S.

Very good point and the answer is no I haven't. I've ridden an SV 650 and hated it. I'm already pretty committed to this though now and i was thinking about it for ages. Currently this owes me about 2 grand which I'd get back I'd I sold the parts and broke the bike for spares but I'm hoping I get on well with this!

My TL was my first twin

at first it was odd to ride! it took me a good 6 months to get used to how the power is delivered etc

I have had the bike 7 years now and cant bring myself to get rid of it I even walked away for a cracking deal on a zx10r when I wanted one and had the cash in my pocket Laughing

Out of interest, what makes big V twins agricultural etc? I've never had the opportunity to ride one.

you have to give these bikes time to learn them if you havent ridden a twin much so dont give up on it if you dont like it Laughing

just change gear a lot earlier than an inline 4 and you will smile all the time Laughing

I rode a mates IL4 and it felt broken I had to give it back after a few miles

yet riding my mates harley felt OK (I will say OK as it was a harley Laughing )

Lumpy low down, don't tend to reward being revved.

I think of them as diesels compared to IL4's.

Different people like different things. I still appreciate the noise when riding a big twin, but for outright "enthusiastic" riding, or for a sports bike, I'd choose an IL4. Thumbs Up

my take on big twins is that there flat out or nothing.

thats what my mille's like anyway. if you try and tootle round on it its not nice to ride, but flat out its a good laugh.

The TL motor is pretty smooth low down and loves to be revved!!

although when I rode a ducati 1098 it was lumpy as hell below 80!!
