Yeah I won't be forgetting that, did think about getting a new 1 as mine is 28 years old but at £20 it just seems like a waste of monies. Should have a few new parts turn up tomorrow though Very Happy

Still waiting on a few more bits to arrive however today I did recieve

Pads turned up yesterday Very Happy

Thought the brake light switches looked knackered so I ordered some new ones but I borrowed 1 off my Srad and put on it and still no brake light, So I got the Voltmeter out and with the ignition on both switch connectors are reading 11.3 with the ignition on.

Going to have a look at the back of the light itself tonight as the bulb is good and there's power to the switches so it must be further down the line. And if I remember rightly Suzuki decided not to put a cover on the rear light and its in the mudguard so guarantee it to be full of Mud.

Seem to hit another stumbling block As the Silver calliper I painted up the bolt that goes through to hold it in place has gone walking. So Thought Id use the seized one that came with the bike.

Worked the piston out and Sad

Even the body looks pitted and generally not worth the price of a seal kit

So now I need to find the Bolt for my calliper and Just roll with that but doesnt look like itll be MOT'd before the end of this week Thumbs Down

So after working late into the night last night got everything bolted back on with new wiring at the back.

Got 6 or 7 Little jobs left like putting the chain back on and fitting the chain guard and hooking the heated grips into the ignition.

Apart from sorting out this caliper malarky Its good to go Laughing

https://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb259/Squeaky_86_2007/10410264_10154636950100284_1013569267235938940_n.jpg

Fitted the new numberplate although its a bit small and not sure if I like it on the full size mudguard.

https://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb259/Squeaky_86_2007/10592642_10154636950195284_4663571726563845193_n.jpg

Plan is just to ride it through the winter looking Rough and invest in new tank and panels and mudguard in the new year. No point painting current ones as Tank is pretty corroded underneath so I'm going to scrub the rust off put some Jenolite on it and Hammerite it and hope it lasts this winter.

Will paint the Wheels once its past an MOT though as have 2 sets Mr. Green

Well managed to do everything except sorting out front brake and just change the oil filter.

However I fitted the exhaust gasket and thought I'd start it and let it run as have done throughout the build. Not starting Brand new battery Brand new plug Crying or Very sad

Put the fuel tap onto On and tried starting it for a while nothing, I knew the tank was a bit low so I put it on reserve and tried again, suddenly the area reaked of Fuel and it's Literally pissing out of this

https://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb259/Squeaky_86_2007/imagejpg1-32.jpg

Appears to be an overflow but can't Suss out why it's dropping straight out yet if I put the fuel tap to on nothing happens and obviously neither does it with it off.

Use a screwdriver to undo the 4 screws of the float bowl... inhale petrol... take cig break (avoid petrol fumes, spillages etc)... free off float and investigate why stuckage has occurred (maybe dragged some crap in from bottom of tank?)... refit float bowl and... using screwdriver, replace all 4 screws - not too tight, not too loose... but just right Thumbs Up ... make brew and take cig break... check to see if problem is solved Thumbs Up

If problem persists, please seek professional advice Very Happy

My pit bike failed to start the other week, with fuel leaking out the carb overflow on kick over. I thought the float must be sticking, but it turned out to be a fubard gasket on the intake manifold in the end.

Good luck.

Have you adjusted the float height if so maybe allowing to much petrol in the bowl

I doubt it's the drain screw.... unless you've been fiddling with it Rolling Eyes

Assuming the float and needle are all moving freely and happily, I'd whip the carb off and give it a good clean before anything else. I would suspect a blockage... especially as you say your rusty tank was running very low.

I just had a thought....When it wouldn't start I fitted the new plug hoping that would cure it and remembered the old plug was wet so I presume there's no spark.

Or could it be from trying to start it I flooded it it before putting the new plug in.

And hence why my Overflow dumping fuel?
