At ace cafe. More old bill than I've seen in a while. https://i.imgur.com/qOEIUVsl.jpg

There are vans ANPR cars. On the overpass. Everywhere

Must've been at least half a dozen ANPR cars, a few vans. So it was quite dull, anyone flinched half a dozen police descended. Lots of pedbois lost their rides though. Highlight was one pedboi deciding to do a runner, he didn't get very far.

I was there Cool

I overheard that last week when the police turned up someone through a glass bottle at them, so this week they decided to turn up in force and ruin the night trying to make a point that one person has ruined it all for everyone else. I only saw one moped on the recovery trucks! Nice to see nearly everyone keeping their ride!

First time I've been, won't be making it regular. A406 is a shit road. Period. At least oakdene is a nice ride and Turpin is 5 minutes away!

Hmmmm? sounds like history repeating itself Sad

I fondly remember when all the bikes used to meet at Chelsea Bridge Smile .
That was until the hateful coppers made it uncomfortable for anyone to stop there.
They (coppers) started turning up in large numbers and stopping every bike for any reason Sad
Slowly all the bikes stopped going there and the coppers had got what they wanted Evil or Very Mad

On the overpass
https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/acecafe_police.jpeg
Sorry for the poor quality it was taken from my helmet cam and zoomed in.
This was the police outside on the roundabout, there were a lot more in front of Ace Cafe.

Ridiculous, a disappointing first Friday Night@Ace for me. Not so much Ace Cafe, more Mace Cafe

Well, that there could be your answer. Can't say I'd expect anything else really. I bet they thought it was really cool/funny/hardcore at the time...

would be luls worthy to have quick release fairings, just rolling burnout down the road under the bridge, then dump fairings and ride sensibly back .

Not sure the police would put me off that much, unless they're actively harassing people or issuing BS tickets.
Then again I don't live near enough to bother going.

We're they being particularly arsey? Or just letting their presence be felt? As I would avoid in future if my slightly loud cans and possibly a bit small reg plate were going to get me into bother.........

They seemed to just pulling over people being silly. Screaming down the A406, checking them as they came off. If you draw attention to yourself and you aren't legit, then IMO you deserve what's coming to you.

There was an idiot in an Astra revving the tits off his car back and forth, strangely they didn't even pull him. Which I feel they should've done.

This is why https://content.met.police.uk/News/New-Dispersal-Order-obtained-for-Stonebridge-Ward/1400018430342/12

There have been groups stunting and generally being a pain for years. They were asked to go elsewhere but as they didn't and the locals complained.... To be honest I didnt know there were any residential properties in the area. However even though I live about 7 miles from the Ace on a night when the wind blows in the right direction I can hear it.

It isn't just bikes that get it, there was a Ford group who have been banned for their behaviour.

Do not forget this type of thing could get the Ace closed down by the plod opposing a renewal of the liquor licence, so yes once again the few ruin it for the many.

They are all traffic cops. Lots of them, I suppose they are trying to make a point.

As mentioned the few ruin it for everyone, Don't the cops usually just sit and watch making sure no one is being too much of an ass?

I live nearby but never go anyway Laughing

If one of 'em wants any help from me he can forget it, they'll do anything that doesn't involve crime.

Whilst I partly understand the motive, actually being there and seeing over 30 officers at this one location doing quite frankly, fuck all, made me so angry. I could only think of the amount of scumbags mugging/robbing/stabbing people in London that evening getting away with it because all the coppers were busy standing around arms folded pulling over fully legal bikers.

Wholeheartedly agree. It was just a shame, was amazed at the way people ride through the packed car park. One guy on some big gay fag bike, revving and then blasting through, then twats a top box on a bike and looks around at those in his way as if it's their fault.

I was really disappointed.

As mentioned they are all traffic cops therefore they would only be doing traffic stuff anyway. However I do agree that it's super overkill
