Don't know if this has been suggested before, but with people seemingly always asking "What is bike XXX like, top speed/bhp/learner legal/peoples opinions?" it might be an idea to have a "forum" for bike reviews, but more organised than a normal forum, just one post per bike, and the first post would have to state the facts you know, like stock specs you get from the manufacturers websites etc, then after that, people post reviews on the bike, so over time it builds up a nice thread for each bike and people can add to it etc, so when people ask questions they can be pointed to it, and it would be a nice resource.

Just an idea. Smile

I think this is a litle too much data and not enough posting to justify a forum. however a facts webpage hosted on the server and linked too off the boards would be a good idea me thinks.
just have different sections like:

Peds
learner legal
learner illegal
A2 legal
commuters
sports bikes
superbikes
tourers

then allow people to submit bike facts such as stock bhp, top speed, acceloration, reliability etc.

I'm sure some php know it all can knock up something like that in an hour or so.

There are way too many different bikes on the market to have a review database, and this place is not trying to be a bike review database it's a chat forum. If you're considering a bike do what people do at the moment and post up about it in general chat asking what peoples views of it etc. are and people will reply.

People also reply with links to forums which are run as about that bike like MCN Ninjas, R6 Message Net and other such sites which all are about one bike as they're able to give you the most information about them if you're looking to buy one.

The bits like BHP, top speed, and all that stuff are available on the manufactures website, or if you get magazines many have buyers guides in the back of them.

There are just so many bikes out there that a project like that is something which would need its own website and everything and not to be part of a chat forum as it's very different really. The place does work fine as it is at the moment and what with the number of people moaning about there being crap threads in general chat, if there were people asking about bikes then those other people then couldn't turn around and moan. Laughing

Old Thread Alert!
