Cheers folks!

https://img822.imageshack.us/img822/3830/dhovv.jpg

Figuring out the positioning under the seat for the highly complex CG electric components. All 3 of them.

https://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4174/mxw4.jpg

https://img822.imageshack.us/img822/166/r7d1.jpg

I got bored at one point and cut the exhaust in half at the muffler and quickly wrapped it to see what it looked like. Most want!

https://img829.imageshack.us/img829/8687/zhvy.jpg

DON'T PANICCCCC! Loom stripped for removal of unnecessary wiring, namely indcator wires, flasher unit and ignition as it will simply have a keyless ignition switch wired in, most likely hidden.

https://img822.imageshack.us/img822/5154/2ph1r.jpg

And seeing how it fits the new component position. Much cutting and soldering required!

Oh, and discovered on opening up the loom that at one point this bike had both a 12v out for a GPS fitted, and an alarm. On a CG. Good lord.

How the hell did the CG charging system manage all that, the headlight on my BR-K dimmed a lot just from the brake light Laughing

Heaven knows. Only thing that could explain it is where it is kick start only there was no indication of how flat the battery was all the time haha.

Just in case anyone thought this was dead. Main block of work done now, frame painted and back together, tank laquered with vintage honda decals underneath the laquer, swingarm and torque rod painted and laquered. Bike back together but built so I can ride it if need be (I.e. head bearings grease packed+set, swingarm spindle greased, motor back in and torqued up wih top mount etc.) loom complete and gives me a spark and all the electrics I need whilst remaining invisible past the headstock, just needs retaping. All just ferkling and road legalisation parts now. Need to do something about the temporary exhaust too, thinking TL125 high level front pipe for a high level straight through pipe? Will be out next spring for sure.

Looking good.

For this hidden keyless ignition switch, would such a switch exist that turned the ignition off once the bike was stalled, or the kill switch (if fitted) hit. Does that make sense? I know what I mean Laughing

Basically when u hit the kill switch and reset it, u still have to push the hidden ignition switch back to on before starting again, like a fool proof switch so u cant leave the ignition on

Well, the loom has been designed with 2 switches which will be hidden under the seat. One lives the ignition itself so there is a spark and the other lives the auxiliary circuits like the lights. The bike doesn't have a kill as such, so will run until you kill the main ignition switch, somewhat foolproof in itself.

Cheers tamsin. Thumbs Up

I present you with my housemate Peter Carr. 2013 BSB superstock 600 rider, highest position finish 9th @ Brands hatch. Not bad. Unfortunately the CG was too much for him.

This may well be the only CG with a steering damper. Because I had it lying around, leave me alone. Also, Pete told me it needed it, and he's a professional.

Rebuilt throttle assembly and refitted loom today with some revisions, you can the the layout in the pic for under the hump, hoping to fire the motor for the first time in 15 months tomorrow.

I will update with pictures when i get a bit of time, but this is ongoing and now running and self contained. I am awaiting a delivery of ali to make the rearset plates from and then i can make the linkages for brake/gearshift. After that there is a little bit more wiring to hook up the headlight, horn, rear light and brake light switch and then some proper length cables as all of them are now about 3 inches too long lol. It will then be mot'd and on the road.

Been far too long since I updated this. Have some running vids Mr. Green . Has lighting now, STILL awaiting alloy for foot rests.

First firing:

First self contained run with onboard power and fuel:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDkkLxZ1X_4

And a quicky universal muffler jammed on it for an MOT:

Cheers!

worth the wait!
if i may be so bold as to mention though, for the main/dipped beam console lights, arent there any others that look a little less 'fisher price' like? just the shape/size more than anything - something a little more subtle maybe...??? or is that an MOT requirement?

Have been slacking off with updates i know. Will do a latest tonight with a slew of pics. I have my rearsets being cut as we speak finally so can move on. Hope to have this on the road in a few weeks.

Entertwainer, yeah could just run some small coloured leds but they look quite nice in the flesh and i haven't finished the plate they mount on yet.

Sorry for slacking on the thread. My laptop broke and couldn't be arsed to get one. Posting on a phone is an utter ball ache.

Apart from a number plate which is underway with a brushed stainless mount, the bike is mot-able. Lights work, exhaust js secure, loom is finished and hidden inside the frame from the stator, cables shortened, mudguard clears, runs lovely! Well chuffed with how it has come out. The work put into relocating the electrical components has paid off, with them being almost totally invisible and preserving the lines of the bike.

MOT and legal requirements are two different things. No chain guard or speedo will get through the MOT fine (shouldn't even be an advisory) but if you get pulled by plod expect fine. A good friend is an MOT tester and also helped me rework the loom as I am useless with electrics. He says the bike will pass as is with plate on. The horn switch is actually the bare connector on the end of the wire, press it onto clip on, earths out and operates horn. Wink

Cheers for the comments, it looks lovely in the flesh. Smile it is tiny though, the top of the seat cushion is roughly as high as the top of the clutch cover on the el bandito.

The little cg had it's maiden run about a month ago, i didn't realise but the carb was flooding out, causing it to choke on fuel if the tap was left on. Being a cg, i just turned it on to refill the float bowl, switched it off, and then rode for a few minutes until it started lagging then switched it back on lol. When i had the carb apart to clean it, i replaced the main jet with a 95 up from 86 and then tweaked the accelerator pump to get rid of a little flatspot just off idle. Rides great now. Bike feels tiny but gets looks wherever it goes and is great fun to spank everywhere. Awaiting my first plod episode as it is insanely loud but has a proper thumpy sound to it.

well chuffed. Now it is road legal i just need to finish it!
