So Ducati's racing efforts have gone to shit in both Moto GP and WSBK so let the rumors begin!

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/ben-spies-rumored-to-have-to-choose-between-wsbk-and-a-ducati-motogp-production-racer-68165.html

Interesting stuff, also backs my opinion that the Ducati GP bike is becoming more and more like a Yamaha!

Go back to the trellis. It works well. It's also their USP. Harley Davidson have shown you don't have to be innovative to sell bikes/ caps/ t-shirts. Stoner also won the 2007 Moto GP championship with a trellis frame.

They're trying to be too clever and they've tried so many bolt on 'fixes' they're lost now. I would have just back tracked to the last competitive bike and then improve from there

Come on Audi do something!

Long time no post from me, unfortunately I've been a bit busy over the last year, but still popping my head in.

I'm fairly certain that Gigi Dall'lgna will make a difference. I don't think Ducati can go backwards, their issue is mainly down to the spec tyre - which is designed around alloy deltabox style frames, and it works with the flex that that provides, different frames would need different tyres to hit the same lap time.

Essentially, it's all bollocks, the spec tyre should have saved costs, instead it's turned it into a two horse race by Yamaha and Honda who can make the best use of that tyre. Ducati have been hopelessly re-engineering around the tyre and still aren't their.

I think the experience Gigi Dall'lgna has with the Aprilia, and the fact that he's heading it and reporting into the CEO will 'hopefully' allow him to 1) design an engine and frame that get along together and 2) take maximum advantage of the spec tyre.

If they can do that, things might look a bit better. He hasn't done a bad job at Aprilia, and hopefully, if Audi can throw some support in, as well as Philip Morris, then they'll perhaps have something semi decent towards the end of 2014 ready to have a proper go at it in 2015.

I'd like to think that they'd have something good for next year, but I can't see it to be honest. I think they'll get closer, but that'll be it, though I'm happy to be wrong on this!
