Found a little bit of rot where the rear section joins, so I'm going to weld up the seam and flatten it out again after.
Was supposed to be going for coating tomorrow, but this will set that back a bit. |

I had a bit of a mare of a time with the plastics. I tried some vinyl paint, but it just came off in sheets. Very frustrating, didn't notice until I nipped up the bolts under the handlebars, then it all bubbled up. It would be the headstock arrangement, which is my least favourite part of the build!
Anyway. Seat cover off, seat base covered in Hammerite.

New seat cover on. Not best pleased with this, might re-do it at a later date. Atleast the base is now good.

Rear shocks painted. Not a bad colour match considering it's from a rattle can:

Now it's wheel building time.

Unfortunately, the beefier pattern spoke set does not fit. The nipples are too big for the rims, I thought at first the coating was stopping them, but it isn't. I ran a file down one to check, but I'm not ruining the coating by doing that to all of them. I'll use standard thinner spokes (like the front).
I've also ordered stickers. |

This is awesome.
I think I may have to build one of these for my next project. How much do you think this one owes you? (if you don't mind me asking obviously) ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

£500-600 buys you a barely running chinese bike or a ratty CG.
An extra £400 for a minty fresh, just rebuilt bike with a ton of character? Bargain. Plus then there's the fun of building it - which is a large chunk of it ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

It would appear that I've just bought a c50LAC off of eBay for £200. Only been here for less than a day and already in pieces.
Not sure whether to clean up and run or try and restore? ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |
