I use Arma textile jacket and "jeans" they are waterproof, if it's monsoon rain, I get slightly wet around the zipper.... Unless I just pissed myself, not sure which ____________________ Yamaha YBR 125cc 11 plate |

There are approximately 2 types of rainwear available; stuff that leaks after a while, and goretex.
Army surplus goretex, if you can find it and it fits, is the way to go if you need it cheap.
Before I got my goretex textile suit, I used to wear layers when it got really rough. A rain oversuit on top of allegedly waterproof textiles works reasonably well. Any single layer will leak sooner or later, depending on fit and how it stretches when you're on the bike. The usual problem is the fabric stretches at a different rate than the seam tape, and the seam tape starts lifting. Once there's a "bubble" in the seam tape that reaches from seam to edge of tape, it'll leak.
Goretex gear uses a different type of seal tape than pretty much all other "waterproof" gear. I'm convinced it's the reason they are actually waterproof, quite independent from the breathing abilities, which are of course important, just not as important. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

I picked up a used Belstaff rain suit from ebay for about a tenner. Kept my warm and dry yhe whole way round a very wet Scotland, including torrential rain.
I also picked up a used rain suit for the missus which was originally sold in lidl for about 2 quid! That also kept her bone dry the whole journey.
Plenty of bargains to be had ____________________ Sold: 2003 satin black Yamaha R6
