I'm impressed you got it to fit nicely.

Have you checked out insurance for it yet?

If you're going down the modified route and you can insure it I presume you have your full licence? If so why not look at a 150 kit to give it a little more poke?

Might be worth doing the tappets with the engine out too, just for ease of access.

That won't go on the road... DVLA are likely to wanna get it checked over. Swapping from a 2 stroke 50 to a 4 stroke 125, they'll get all panicky about it Laughing

The good old 2.0 Red top 1.2 Nova's! Laughing
Just like the Fiesta 2.0 Zetec in a base 1.1S or the VVC 1.8's in a Metro 1.1L, and all those MGZR 105's still fitted with rear drums, and a pig iron bodged in 2.0 T16 turbo. Wink

Were any of these conversions ever re-registered properly and declared on the log-book, or were the second hand value's just too good to miss out on?

To the OP, I like the look of those GPR50's, and no doubt at all that the chassis can handle much more than 7-8bhp, but I'd be interested to see how you did the frame mods, and are you replacing the engine cradle afterwards?

What 125cc engine is it out of interest?

the engine i planned to have in the skyjet was a honda cb250 rs single cylinder twin port engine but the engine needed to much work so i went with the gohst 250 engine

How to ruin a bike:
    Buy renthals
fit alien or enduro headlight or even dominators
    fit wank anodized shit
big bore exhaust to lose all back pressure
    fit wank carbon copy shit
    repeat until desired effect

I'm sorry but you are ticking all the things I hate the most on custom bikes. You could of left the fairings on and clip ons with maybe some renthal grips and got a better choice in exhaust and it would of looked pretty damn cool. Thumbs Up

I'd look at getting a 428 rear sprocket rather than 420 Front! It will last a fair bit longer. 420 is moped size chain <7bhp and 428 is 125 4t size <15 bhp........not to say its going to snap if in good condition but it will wear a lot quicker and need changing and need adjusting a lot more often.

I wouldn't tell them. 125's regged as 50's are worth £££

Plus, it's no worse than declaring say a 1.2-2.0 16v in a Nova - and loads of them made it on the road Thumbs Up

Theres a lad up round here that's got a 172 gillera motor stuffed in a 50 frame, regged as a 50 and riding on L's Laughing

What fantastic advice, you are now my absolute hero.

By the way - it is worse than not declaring an engine swap in a car - car licence is car licence - bike licence is many flavours...

What are you talking about?

You evidently know the grand sum of nothing about my job. I am employed to sell motorcycle parts, and clothing.

I am not a mechanic, DVLA inspector, MOT tester, Bike shop owner, or anything else that would require me to give a toss about what anyone else is riding on what licence.

Shit troll is shit.

That wasn't trolling, that was a valid question in my opinion.

Not giving a shit about someone else choosing to break the law or 'ride otherwise than in accordance with' is a very different situation to actively encouraging that behaviour in the public domain.

Like it or not and whether you sweep the floor or run the workshop, you represent the shop you work in and the owner of that shop. Both in and out of work he has chosen to entrust you with his reputation along with that of his business and other staff.

If you say "don't declare it" then by extension the fact that you represent 'your' shop means they are of the same opinion as you are.

I can think of a few occasions when I've gone into a shop, seen someone working there who I know to be a fuckwit and walked out again, taking my business elsewhere.

Well done. You sir, are a sterling example.
