PostPosted: 15:29 - 21 Jan 2014    Post subject: My Suzuki GSR 750 AL3 Reply with quote

Hi all, thought i would put a thread up here as i have started making it my own.

https://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc133/Benn-bmx/1545053_10151852654547927_258445957_n_zps6c3f16e7.jpg

So far i have taken the mirrors off, put a SP Engineering tail tidy, some smaller indicators and a 8x6 plate on it.

My next purchase will be an exhaust, however i can't decide what exhaust to get. I have narrowed it down to the two below.

which pipe would you get?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXHAUST-AKRAPOVIC-MEGAPHON-TITANIUM-SUZUKI-GSR750-GSR-750-YEAR-2011-SM-S7SO1T-/360485646869?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item53ee9e7215

or

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GSR-750-2011-2013-ARROW-EXHAUST-X-KONE-NICHROM-CARBY-/400612474138?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d465d3d1a

after the exhaust, im planning on the following. Hopefully in this order too.

Hel Race series brake lines
Bellypan
single seat cowl
full exhaust system (new collectors & decat pipe)
Power Commander V
Quickshifter

I am also looking into changing the boring swing arm for something off a GSXR perhaps. i cant find much info on it unfortunately.

Anyway, this is my first big bike and i love it very much. I will put up some more photos when i get a chance to take some.

Benn

EDIT; Put the wrong link!

Thats the problem, i love the akra but its not road legal. The arrow is also very nice and is road legal. Akra is cheaper and i have seen some in real life and they sound gorgeous. Have never seen the arrow on a GSR or GSXR so have no idea what they sound like.

I like how simple the akra is but im a carbon whore and like the arrow because of the carbon tip...

its a tough decision

I've loved the GSR750 since the day i saw one in my work car park, looks so much better in person than in pictures.

Looks wise, i'd go for the arrow but if the akrapovic does sound better... i'd pick the akrapovic Very Happy

I'd be putting your mirrors back on for a start. Can be useful to be able to see what is behind you.

I'd recommend a little screen, and money on trackdays rather than bolt on tat on a restricted licence.

Apart from the road in front at the same time.

It's not about safety per say, it's about information. By taking your mirrors off you are reducing the amount of information you can take in. More information on your surroundings is a good thing when riding on the road.

You should have a look at SC Project exhausts... A little bit more expensive but look good

Nice bike though!

I've also just seen that your getting a single seat cowl... If your covering the rear seat you should look at getting an Evotech exhaust hangers to replace the rear foot pegs.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSR750-Exhaust-Hanger-2011-2012-2013-2014-L1-L2-L3-L4-/111261985573?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item19e7bb2b25

And then this for the other side

New exhaust has been ordered. Hopefully will turn up in the next few days.

I went with the Akra in the end as my yobbo side decided that more noise = Better.

Those downpipes don't look like they'll last all that long. Bit of an eye sore too. Does Akrapovic also make headers for the GSR?

I bet that sounds brilliant, only problem is the hesders, perhaps a belly pan? And now that exhaust drags your eyes to the quite frankly disappointing parts bin special swing arm, love the bikes other than that.
