Testing starts next week - Anybody got any predictions?

Personally I'm waiting to see how well Bradley Smith does after ending the last test in 2nd, I'm also curious to see how well Pol does (I'm going to say very - I know they had to raise the M1 footpegs up because he kept on leaning too far...)

Ducati... Who knows. Don't know if we'll see a revamped bike at the tests, anyone got an idea? I know they're not releasing the colour scheme until after Sepang 2. We don't know if they're running Open or Factory, either.

New crew chief for VR. Will it make a difference? Hard to believe with Lorenzo as a team mate that Yamaha will cater for VR's tastes. Hopefully Yamaha can find a little something to compete with Honda.

Marquez has got to be title favourite. Pedrosa to retire with broken fingernail.

Redding has a good benchmark of Hayden. However, the customer RCV was well down on the Factory bike at the pre-season Valencia. I hope it doesn't stay that way.

I'd have to say the clock is ticking for Bautista. He stepped up a bit last year, but...

Lastly, anyone know who the BT Sport team will be?

Sadly shan't be watching any of this now that BT have got a stranglehold on bike GP's. Can't see that doing the game much good in the UK.

Apparently it's looking like it's going to be Toby and steve doing the commentary as i read somewhere julian ryder has quit from commentating, not sure how much truth there is to that.

i hope the BT coverage is decent and they actually put some effort into it

There are a few places to pick up a live stream of BT sport, plus BT Internet users I believe can watch it online too. All is not lost.

Also I'd imagine the races will appear on torrent shortly after they finish.

None of which is as ideal as it being on the beeb but you can still get your fix at least.

I think Lorenzo will be well fired up for this season. Think it hurt him being beaten by the kid last year and he rode well at the end, between him and Marquez but Lorenzo for me.
Rossi to pack in during the season, Pol replaces him.
Cal to carry on Ducati's dismal form to start with but improve as the season gets going and Audi influence comes through.
Pedrosa to try really hard as he does but get injured doing it, dumped by Honda after the season
Bradley to just be Bradley, promise a lot but not really deliver, get dumped at the end of the season, Pol to beat him, maybe a podium.
CRT or whatever its called this year to be surprisingly close to the big boys, Scotty to do well.

I really hope you mean Steve Day instead of that leathery old cunt Parrish?

I agree with most of that, but I'm really hoping BS pulls something out the bag. He's had a lot of bad press but I think he can do quite well. Much like Cal in his second season, this is the time for him to show what he can do - especially in the first half of the season before Pol really gets to grips with the M1.

Who to replace Pedrosa then? The optimist in me can't help but hope that if Redding proves his worth...

I for one hope they do.

There is this cool thing out now called the internet that allows you to watch TV online.

If it's the same internet that you can watch premier league football on it will freeze up every few minutes, have foreign commentary and keep popping things up at you until you eventually infect your computer with some kind of aids trying to clear them.

My connection isn't great but I can stream other tv, eurosport player ect.
As soon as I go onto that site and try and watch anything I'm getting loads of pages opening and it's asking me to install a load of crap?

I have ad blockers that seem to work on other sites.

It would make sense for them. It's not like things could get any worse.

They'll be in Sepang now for shakedowns but not much insight will be gained. It's happened before where early tests didn't show the best overall bike/rider.
Hopefully the Open Class bikes will ruffle the full prototypes when racing gets underway on March 23rd.

Decent sized grid with loadsa former champions. Promises to be a good season.

Motogp.com posted the timings:
https://www.motogp.com/en/TestResults/MotoGP+Sepang+Test+2014

Was going to mention Iannone being faster than the Factory Ducatis as well, but also both NGM Forward bikes and both Tech3s are beating them? Winter went well in Bologna I see Shocked

Other worrying things: Hayden almost exactly as slow as Aoyama isn't good, Redding -3s on Bautista, Suzuki's test bike -3s on the leaders.. and the Paul Bird team apparently forgot the ignition keys for their bikes.

Factory Yamaha still half a second off Marquez over a lap, it's encouraging to see Rossi posting competitive times to Lorenzo but I'm really hoping they can close the gap and not end up spending the whole year fighting for 2nd place with Pedrosa.

I just hope it stays interesting unlike the F1 where you could basically say for certain the Vettel was going to win.

I'm quite lucky I already had virgin and they decided to give me BT sport for free. Haven't watched a single thing on it yet though.

Moto GP - you could basically say for certain that Marquez is going to win*.

*without an injury, I think he will start quickest and lead for the whole season taking the championship comfortably.

If Rossi is back amongst it he will only take further points away from Lorenzo and Pedrosa.

I lost count how many times he fell off last season...That 200mph slide besides the concrete wall is one he won't forget.

It is ridiculous that marquez breaks all the records and even one for the fastest crash in the same year he wins the championship.

He's got a years experience this season so you'd think he'd be more consistent and crash less but I don't think he's going to turn into mr sensible somehow Smile

He is at his best in a battle so I hope we get to see plenty of that this season.
