Hi Mark,

Fladden only just gave me his address which is why he has no tracking number yet, his products will be sent out today or tomorrow. Your samples were on the original list and i'm chasing up your tracking number, not sure why is was not on the list- perhaps as i got your address a day later than the others i was sent a day later but i'll find out and get back to you when i know.

Cheers

Thank you Joel. I assume it would work on cars?

I can't see me polishing the bike really. I will probably do fathers GS850 with it though.

Should be effective on cars too as it's designed to deal with baked on grime that is more problematic on motorbikes due to the heat. Be interested to see how you fair.

Please let me know how you get on

The goods have arrived just in time for a post tour clean Smile
Following an issue with a nail picked up in the rear tyre as I pulled into the yard and some brake pad 'drama' I've had to remove the rear wheel thus giving the perfect opportunity to see how well Redant performs with removing the stubbornest of crap on the rim - which never seems to shift.

Firstly a disclaimer on my part!! Whilst the rest of the bike was painted last year I haven't yet found time to respray the rims so we are looking at a tired twenty year old paint job and the previous butchery at the hands of multiple tyre fitters!

So, armed with one newly plugged tire on grimy rim, a bottle of heavy duty motorcycle cleaner and power cleaner (for hard to shift muck)...

https://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r601/mentalboy1/P40203311_zpsecfde027.jpg

...and a selection of the usual cleaning assistants!...

https://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r601/mentalboy1/P40203351_zpsaad37cf0.jpg

...we're ready to tackle this (with no wax or polish since September last year, just detergent and a pressure washer, this should be interesting!)...

https://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r601/mentalboy1/P40203321_zps0eb12bea.jpg

...As per instructions, the heavy duty (standard) cleaner is first. Good spray pattern on the dispenser and using the toothbrush we're left with this...

https://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r601/mentalboy1/P40203331_zpsef2d6ec4.jpg

... Not too shabby, much better than expected (and boy did it shift the rust on my disc and the tyre soap!!!), but the grime buster was needed. Concentrated spray pattern on this one with an aroma similar to chlorine (stings the face when the spray gets you whilst toothbrushing!) and a delightful purple colour which is handy for letting you know if you've missed anything.
Post grime buster...

https://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r601/mentalboy1/P40203361_zpsa1c4978c.jpg

...And on to the 'motorcycle shine', a combined cleaner, polish and quick wax. Again good spray pattern (although I think I prefer the Autoglym polish and wax but it does remove the two part process). Not as shiny as I remember (it may just be the state of the paint work though) but we'll see how it fares over the coming weeks...

https://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r601/mentalboy1/P40203371_zpscf15c2a3.jpg

Initial impressions are that the standard cleaner will happily shift everything on a bike that's reasonably well cared for. Living outside and being used in all weathers with a slack cleaning regime you'll need the 'power clean' as well. Jury's out on the 'shine' product and we'll see how it does. Smile

Stuff arrived today. Thanks! Thumbs Up

I'm going to tackle the Sahara covered Varadero 125, tomorrow night. The rims are nice and grimey. So far only brake cleaner has shifted the grime slightly. But it's back again, so pics are going to be needed to show progress.

I'll let you know.

Managed to have a quick clean on wednesday and i must say I am impressed!

The cleaner and power cleaner were fantastic... However i found the power cleaner smelt like a mix of dog poo and vomit. The smell soon passed though.

I will be using up the rest of the Muc - Off Stuff i have then will be sticking with Redant i think.

I will get some photos up next week when I get the chance to clean it properly!

Right, you wanted photos... remember, you asked for this. Smile

I finally got round to washing a bike, I was going to do my dads Varadero with it but decided, I'd do mine, give it a challenge. My bike hadn't yet been washed in 2014!

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100100_zpsdc665f1e.jpg

This is it to begin with, can't quite make out all the grime but trust me, it's there.

The first job was to cover the end of the exhaust to stop water damaging the packing, a bung would have been better, but cling film and carrier bags held in place with a laccy band will suffice.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100106_zps6d09c59a.jpg

I think this is the back wheel, lots of chain lube and road dirt, not seen the mud for a while.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100104_zps1ce4ca4d.jpg

Got a lot of grime stuck to the engine, it's oozing oil slightly.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100111_zpsed7ae398.jpg

After the first attempt with just the stuff with the orange label, it looked like this.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100101_zpsea8801bc.jpg

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100102_zps267cee12.jpg

The swinging arm. Chain lube and grime.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100103_zps617c79a9.jpg

The edge of the frame, this took a couple of goes with the orange stuff, then I finally attacked it with the grey stuff and a toothbrush.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100105_zps26dcc596.jpg

Second go, this time with the grey stuff

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100116_zpsc0387c5a.jpg

After some GENTLE scrubbing with a tooth brush. It's some strong stuff.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100121_zps2d75deb7.jpg

So, I went over the whole bike, twice with the orange stuff and it started to come out quite well. But it never shifted this, at the bottom of the tank. I had to get the grey stuff on it.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100114_zps64f8ad16.jpg

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100123_zpsb9c50b2f.jpg

The front wheel looked really good, with just the orange stuff. The picture doesn't do it justice, it was gleaming before polish.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100109_zpsa8e371b5.jpg

The back came out quite well, but it wouldn't shift some of the tough grime, but the grey bottle stuff did, with a bit of scrubbing from a soft brush.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100112_zps2ee4f234.jpg

I like the fact it goes pink, when it's doing it's thing and is ready to get scrubbed and come off.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100115_zps449804ae.jpg

Didn't quite got every thing, I had to attack it again.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100113_zpsd918a024.jpg

After a couple of goes.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100117_zps40e24d8b.jpg

I did eventually get it shiny and un-mucky, but took a lot of time. Got the sprocket quite well too

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100119_zps3fb74cc4.jpg

I never did get rid of the stuff under the front mudguard.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100124_zpsdae8a9c5.jpg

The engine cam up quite well too.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100122_zpsb870f02d.jpg

Both side panels looked similar to this one, albeit this one a bit mor scratched up.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100126_zps629a4031.jpg

Ended up de-greying the panels, you used to be able to see where the stickers were and disguised some of the scuffing. That stuff in the grey bottle is phenomenal.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100125_zps484044cd.jpg

I brushed my teeth with this that morning.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100108_zps3af8cb1c.jpg

Then afterwards, it inspired me to paint the heat shield, same purple as the wheels and seat, we'll see how it stands up in time, also shows the clean engine.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/RED%20ANT%20STUFFS/P4100130_zpsf0d7924c.jpg

I never polished the bike, so I can't comment on that. I'm not polishing a dirt bike, she's lucky she got this instead of just a blast of with a jet washer.

I'm not sure if I was using it correctly, I never read the instructions, it's akin to admitting homosexuality. Wink But the orange bottle didn't seem to do a lot really. It hardly touched the stuff, if left on it's own.

Someone else said the degreaser stank, I didn't believe him but it really does make an awful stench, I thought I had stood in some of the dogs poo. It then invaded the house when I brought the bottle back through.

It seemed to me to be quite hard work to wash the bike using that stuff, I think it may be easier with a bucket of soapy water. But then, maybe a bike that gets washed regularly, and polished afterwards, makes light work of the task. I reckon it's on par with muc-off, which is a massive brand really and that didn't do mine very well. Last summer, I met my mate for a longish ride-out, I met him at his house and he told me he was embarrassed to be seem with me in that state, and washed my bike for me, before we headed out. That hardly touched the tough grime, like the orange label Red Ant only got the light dirt.

I will probably continue to use it, it depends more on the cost, if it costs the same, or more importantly, LESS than the equivalent stuff, i.e. muc-off, then you have probably got yourself a lifetime subscription.

Thanks! Thumbs Up Very Happy

Thanks Fladdem, so it looks like you liked the Power Cleaner, which makes sense if you wash but once a year! Glad you liked the colour change, thats the iron particles dissolving and turning into water, funnily enough you can see this working on panels you thought were spotless, it is amazing stuff.

Thanks do much for your input and feedback, delighted you gave it a proper trial though. I hope you continue to use it but let the reviews roll in!

Grey stuff works the best at clearing most of the stuff off the bodywork, but wasn't great with clearing chain lube and swing arm etc.

Although, I would use it on bodywork, but the stuff stinks, and the smell would seriously put me off re-buying, like others say. People say it stinks, but you don't quite understand how much till you open it!

Also, to note, it says on the front of it "Safe for All Surfaces" but on the rear it says not to get it on the brakes.

Contradictory a little

I'm looking for something to tidy up my CBF125, as the black plastic panels are a bit faded. Is there something that will bring these back to life? Don't have a garage or shed to store it in, so it lives outdoors.

It's been a month since I used the products on the wheel (and several since the old girl had a wash Embarassed ) so I thought I couldn't put it off much longer!

I don't usually bother going for the full wax and polish at this time of year - so I haven't Laughing

Only used the standard orange cleaner (which does smell nice unlike it's thug brother!). I couldn't be bothered to do much more than give it a quick brush over but it does seem to have shifted most of the muck. Good enough until the next proper clean (which I must do this week sometime when the weather's a bit nicer as it's the BMAD bike festival next weekend).

The rear wheel cleaned up really nicely with just a light going over so it seems that the wax and polish do hold on for the stated times.

This little lot should do me for the rest of the year until I sell up and relocate (Is it available in the States yet?)
