They are pretty quick for what they are. BUT!
Wheel bearings, vibrating dash (in fact everything) and downpipe weld snapping. <<<< get that one checked now.
EDIT: Picture, this happened 250 miles from home

I've got exactly the same bike in the same colours, great first bike, loved it. Don't be too tempted to change the exhaust, mine has a Delkevic on it, it's loud all the time. Because it's underslung, that noise tends to hit you hard, with it being nearer. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

Cheers I shall keep that in mind. This one belong to the owner of my local motorbike shop so hopefully he looked after it as well ____________________ Current. Kawasaki ZX9R.

It's one of the faster bikes in that range and though the ER-6F looks good with the full fairing, it's not a sports bike and shouldn't be compared to. However, pretty successful in the Supertwins ....
Incidentally, finally managed to get my studs off, hopefully replacing the manifold this weekend.
In short, nice bike and good step up, BUT as I've now learnt, IL4 is much better. The ER6 throttle can be very snatchy at times. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

I have to say, I never found the ER6 throttle snatchy. It was sensitive when in first and second gear around town, but also responsive. When touring though, I'd typically putter around in 4th gear in 50kph zones, around 2.5 to 3k rpms.
It's not particularly slow below 60mph either, as long as you know how to slip the clutch. Shortly before I sold mine, I was pulling power wheelies off the line. It's hard work on the motorway at speeds of 80+ though - the fairing and screen isn't as good as it could be, and the acceleration is blunted.
It does vibrate, though. And the downpipe / exhaust weld snapped on mine too, replaced the downpipe with Delkevic stainless.
The suspension isn't exactly excellent, if you're pushing it a bit on bumpy roads it can start to bobble out around corners, and I had my one and only big bike crash on it when the forks bottomed out under heavy braking then the front lost traction when I hit a bump.
The seating position is totally un-sporty, it's really a sit up and beg bike, but that can make it comfy too.
Decent enough one-up sports tourer. I did about 20k on mine, to Germany, Ireland and Spain. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Pretty much agree with most of that, however it's lower down where it is particularly snatchy, after that it does even out. Funny you should mention between 2-3K as that is where it can surge, which is odd as that is the pottering range. It is sit up and beg as you say.
It is much smoother with a power commander, but it's still a little snatchy low down.
I loved it and enjoyed riding it. I've done about 10K on mine in a year. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |
