You need a full license and a more suitable bike.

When season comes around the monthly events at Three Sisters allow L-plates I believe.

You really can, you just can't find info about L plate trackdays cos they barely exist. You need a full licence to do trackdays and a cbr125 really won't cut the mustard either.

Look at minimoto, it's the bike equivalent of karting. Thumbs Up

Pit biking seems to be taking off at the moment and is a really cheap form of racing, check out NMRRC.

You don't need a full licence at all to do trackdays. You can book any none msv owned circuit with no limits without any licence at all. As long as you are safe and can ride a bike they're fine. We took a mates son to mallory, took his L plates off in the padock nobody batted an eye lid. Laughing

A CBR 125 would soon become tiresome though possibly even dangerously slow, get yourself a proper track tool. An old cb500 cup bike would be a good choice.

A 125 will be slow out the corners, slow all down the straight, but providing you can ride well, shouldn't be as slow in comparison round the corners. You'll most likely remain in the novice group which means you hopefully won't have too many people continuously hounding you. Can always head out of the pits towards the back and take it easy for a few laps to learn the track, then you'll be in your own space for a lot of the session.

If you can get your A2 test passed when you're 19 you'll be able to get a bike much more suitable for a track, if you can afford it that is.

I spoke to a number of TDO's about this having taken a two stroke 250 on a few trackdays. They basically said that they won't allow anything less than a 250 on track unless it's an Aprilia Superteen bike or a 125 GP bike. A four stroke 125 isn't going to cut it.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
