PR3's are good aren't they. I find the front feels a bit squirmy when you're really pushing it though.

Ah right, I take it they don't make 'em anymore as I was looking here: https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/motorcycles/roadster/index.aspx

No FZ6 there. I do like the exhausts position. Thumbs Up

Leave the baffles in, the Scorpions on an FZ6 are just a little bit too much without them unless you want to wear earplugs.

They are terrible, they drone like a bitch. I've got the baffles out on mine (the old style ones) and they sound awesome but it does get to your head after a while.

It is my first ever bike that I wore ear plugs on the road Laughing

Looks lovely though OP. You've got the S2..... I wish I had the S2. The slightly better forks and much better brakes would have done me some favours.

None the less great bikes though. Done about 6 track days on mine or so and nearly got my elbow down on the last one Laughing

Great for wheelies too!

ta all Thumbs Up

did a couple weeks with the baffles in, then a couple without.

put them back in tonight Thumbs Up Laughing you're right, they do drone a bit and since I'm using it for work, it can get tiresome at a 6am start. seemed to bugger up the fuelling a bit too - much happier idle and low revs with them in and better on fuel too.

You're right, they do run better with the baffles in. Mine is exactly the same, bit lumpy with them out.

Mine has a power commander with a custom map so the low end running is fine. Idle was also okay.

Worth doing a de cat. Freed up about 750 rpm at the top end and it pulls hard right to the limiter now but does hunt a bit on idle now.

R6 cams is my next mod to try and push 100 hp at the wheel.

I don't think the later S2 really needs a decat pipe. They had a different and updated map after 2006 or thereabouts and run nicely just with the end cans on the standard map.

The s2 would benefit from a de cat more than the previous bike as they've got cats in the downpipe at the collector and under the seat whereas the earlier models only had one under the seat. They didn't remap it as far as I'm aware, I think the issues you are referring to is the dodgy throttle position sensors on the early bikes.
