The Thundercat had a full Micron system, however the can was a bit battered, and the system not really producing any sound. I finally decided to part with the money for a new can!

First of all, it was off with the original can, and to measure the link pipe size.

64mm. Pretty big. There weren't really many cans to choose from here. I browsed the t'cat forums, and found that several people were using the Delkevic cans and liking them. So I phoned Delkevic yesterday, took some measurements from them, and this arrived today at lunch time:

So, off with the fairing, off with the link pipe, and ready to get working:

The exhaust comes with a baffle:

But the design must have been poor, because it fell out straight away:

All together:

It has a much nicer sound than the previous Micron. A nice deep sound, but it isn't ridiculously loud. I'm very happy with the purchase Thumbs Up

Video shall have to come later (although a phone camera will miss out all of the sound)!

600F is long gone. A ZX6R sits under there!

I love the bike. Sure, it's not the fastest, but it's really smooth and really comfy. My plans for the bike are mainly commuting & touring. I'm hoping for an extended trip to Europe next year Very Happy

I had -1 on the front previously, I think, but I put it back to stock gearing when fitting the new C&S. I didn't even realise until I compared the two front sprockets.

I'll see if I can convince my housemate to fly-by the can.

I'm thinking about getting one for mine. Don't if I should get the full length or the stubby.

But should I get one is another question. There is always the excuse that car drivers hear you better with a loud exhaust.

I didn't see this before now!

I went for the 350mm version, as opposed to the 450mm. It's loud, but not too loud. Depends on how much noise you want, I guess! If you were close to Birmingham, I could show you it, but as you're not, the best I can do is tell you that Delkevic claim it to be 105db with the baffle removed, or around 90db with the baffle in.

Personally it doesn't feel ridiculously loud to me, but I haven't a clue how loud 105db actually is.

Did you hear the GSXR short exhaust? That was close to 112db and not allowed at Brands, was lulz.

Thanks for sharing, I need a new exhaust on my T'Cat as the banding around it (unknown brand carbon looking thing) has started to fall apart.

Mind sharing the price?

Thumbs Up

But 112 is a considerable amount more than 105 XD
