Same with paddy looks awsome, the tail reminds me of the 2004-2005 R1

But that twin is like scoring with a smoking hot girl but she has bad excess skin from where she used to be horrifically obese

If I had wanted a triple I'd have bought the MT-09.

However given my level of experience (3.5 months & 6000 miles on a 13 year old XJ600n) I didn't think I was ready for such a step up.

I know a few people that hate the way it looks, but I personally find it really visually appealing. I love how sharp the back end looks, and I like that from a distance it looks black, but when you are up close you can see the real colour. It's almost like a secret colour just for me.

I also really like the curvy downpipes.

Whatever way you look at it, it's definitely an upgrade from a 2001 Divvy.

I should see no problem if you went with the triple, much nicer engine.

Could have got a nice cb500 or two or three..

Nice looking bike - not sure about the bolts on the front (I presume they are for an aftermarket screen?) but otherwise should do the job nicely. What price did you pay?

Yeah it is but it's not a discussion on 'Should I buy one', it's a 'I did buy one' and you're trying to make him regret it. Time and a place fella (you and others, sheesh)

Just read the Bike magazine review of this bike. They REALLY like it. It's also stupidly cheap for what it is, which is a reasonably quick, fun road bike that will do weekend hooning as well as commuting without any fuss.

My only negative thought was I had a '97 TRX850 which had a similar engine design. It was a decent engine but mine did burn a hell of a lot of oil. That was built nearly 20 years ago though. Laughing

I'm not a fan of twins, I'd definitely prefer the triple. The fact remains it is a tasty looking bike and if that is where you feel your limit is currently then fair play to you Thumbs Up

Can't see you crying about it Mr. Green

They are for the screen, which I have ordered, but the dealer is awaiting stock. I've also ordered the tank bag and clip, and panniers and rails.

I wish the Akrapovič exhausts were available. The one thing I really don't like about the bike is how quiet it is, but I will sort this as soon as a better can is available.

Your opinion is welcome, the great thing about biking is that everyone has different taste and the choice in styling and configuration for what is essential two wheels and an engine on a frame is phenomenal.

I am currently very happy with my purchase, I think I have made the right decision, but I probably wont really know for sure until I get my next bike, which is unlikely to be for a couple of years.

I've only ever had an IL4 - so a twin is a new experience, I am sure in time I will own a triple and whatever other configurations are out there. It's all about experience right? Smile

I'm very interested in having a go on one, the reviews are good and they're very well priced. Thumbs Up

Don't be fooled into thinking all IL4's will be like your XJ, however. There's more to the bike than the engine configuration, for instance you have a 270 degree crank, so it will feel like a V even though it's a parallel twin.

Can I have a go? Mr. Green

Sure, if you can prove you're insured. Why not? Thumbs Up

Probably easier to just go to a Yamaha dealer and try one though. Razz

Nope sorry. The Bros is too gutless and I'm too petrified to wrecking the ZX6. Crying or Very sad

This interests me. I didnt know it had a 270 crank.

My old TRX sounded brilliant. I might have to go and try one now.

I like it. If the reviews by people who have actually ridden the bike - as opposed to those who've just looked at the specs on the internet - are anything to go by you've bought a cracker. Enjoy!

Dunno yet, I'm being very careful having never run in a new bike before, or indeed scrubbed new tyres.

I've got it booked in for the first service on Monday morning, I will post again how I feel after doing 5-700 miles this weekend.
