It took a lot of work scrapping away with a scraper. Still needs a good polish up but it don't look to bad atm.

houses aren't painted round here in this shit hole of a town. If we painted it, it'll stand out like a sore thumb, and then'd you'd probably be stabbed for the house being different from the rest.

yeah as MarkJ said, took the paint of the downpipes. Can't see why the previous owner decided to paint it black other than he couldn't be bothered to polish them.
