So, after ditching a mediocre 2001 R1 off a trailer on route to Le Mans last year, I have decided to turn it into my race bike for next season, lots to do to get it up to the scratch.
So as it stands it looks like this;
https://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r94/Neileng/R1_zpsf8713738.png
The list needed is;
Essentials;
New radiator coolant bottle - Purchased £18
New front brake fluid reservoir pot - purchased £16
servicing the front and rear suspension & get set up for my weight - £tba
L/H Foot-peg - £20\/
New carburetor jets - £58
Race fairings full & screen - £260
Obviously need new rubber, but that easy!!
Engine;
Cam chain need re-timing as it has a little rattle -shouldn't be too bad to sort out, as there is NO power loss and the noise goes away when the power is on, so nothing serious - £50 - £100
Need to remove lots of unnecessary parts removing that are needed for the road/MOT.
A good old service all round replacing ALL fluids & plugs - EST £50
Everything else seems to be fine/replaced before it fell off the trailer as it was my main road bike.
Cannot wait to get this into shape and back in working/riding order, it should be so much better than before. ____________________ Current bike - GSX-R1000 k8

Going by the subject, I thought I was going to see pictures of an R1 that had crashed in to a race bike.
