Hi everyone,

Last year I had a serious accident involving hitting a car head on. Which didnt leave me in a great way for quite a while. Without dragging it on too much. Fast forward to recently, I had been looking at road bikes and even went to view one with cash in hand a little while ago.

But just didn't feel right for various reasons, the road is not somewhere I want to be on a motorbike anymore. Big decision for me being so young. Anyways. My restriction is up come August time. So looking to get on track this year or at the latest next year. Gives me time to fix a bike up.

I know there is some on here who are avid track riders. Not looking to race competitively at all, just looks like a great hobby, So just wanting to know basics. Big Kawasaki fan so will probs grab a ZX6R 97/98 as I know how they run etc. licenses? Basics such as tyre warmers? Gear? Spares? Fuel?

Will look to do one around once a month and trailer it up there.

Any help is great and very appreciated.

Cheers.

There is a trackday FAQ sticky at the top of the page. That should answer all of your questions.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Go for the 98 not 97 model. Ideally find someone selling an already tweaked-for-track one.

Rest is in the sticky, as Marjay suggests.
