Just blown my first pay-cheque on this baby. What do normal people do with road legal pit bikes? She's got a set of knobbly tyres, black scuffed up plastics for off-roading, a load of hop-up parts for it, I think, not too sure on pit bike parts, I assume they are better, my mate spent about £1500 on bits and bobs.

It needs a new rear brake master cylinder, the original has split and is leaking, I bought it with a spare, I just need to bolt it on. Then take it for MOT, get some insurance and find a purpose for it. Twisted Evil Thumbs Up

Is that a list of stuff on there, Paddy or stuff I should add? It,s already got 140 engine with a Z40 cam, an aftermarket exhaust, oil cooler and a different rear shock.

I does wheelie quite well, the quarter turn throttle will take some getting used to. Very Happy Will I need a horn to get a MOT? And tape up the rear light?

Remove rear light, add horn, speedo and number plate.

Those are the bits I'd buy, as it already appears to be loaded with kit, roadworthy that thing and get on it.

She has a speedo bolted onto the bar clamp, bit unusual to operate, it's an Acewell something or other. I need a full size plate really, won't pass without then wire up a horn, got the loom hidden away, but nothing is plugged into it.

Does the rear light have to come off or just get covered, never had a daylight only advisory MOT test thing before, but I am aware that it's either all lights or none at all. Any where to look for stuff on it?

It is NO lights at all.

No rear reflector, all you need is horn, plate, speedo. Latter doesn't even need to work Laughing

That is it, get that sorted, rock up to MOT and gwan.

I also keep calling you Fladdemir Putin... you definitely need to turn this into a russian bike.

Hahaha, well I'll certainly be Russian around on it... Rolling Eyes

I'll play with it tomorrow, ring my mate up, bring him a box of tea-bags and then be out and about on it by next week!

TBH I'd sell it or swap it for the road legal 2stroke trailie that you've been wanting for a while!

Pit bikes aren't much fun for more than a few miles on the roads, and where I live if I had something like that it wouldn't last 5min. The issue around security and keeping it safe would worry me too much.

Or you could sell it and finish the H100 engine MT5 you have been working on? Wink

Damn it Steve, pointing out the obvious. I put the two next to each other and the MT5 isn't much bigger than the little pitter, both should be relatively similar levels of performance and equally incapable off-road Laughing With the pit bike just pinching performance and off-road worthiness.

I have so many projects on the go, three push bikes, my GPZ, my MT5 and now this Laughing And currently, like a mong, I put diesel in the TTR, so sorting that bike out, again. It's the worlds only unreliable TTR, although this last fault was my fault entirely, but while sorting it I have noticed other bits wrong with it again, I have spent three times the value of the bike on it.

Now I've started working for Honda I appear to have money falling out my ears, hence the whimsical nature of this buy, it was my birthday yesterday, also coincided with the day pay slips are handed out, my mate just happened to mention thinking about selling it, £700 later, got a new toy! Probably a bit expensive but lots of goodies. There are receipts that add up to about £1500, and also working for Honda, he looked after it well.

Still, new bikes every month!

I think from now on the only safe thing is for Honda to pay you in parts only!

Tell them push bike and Kawasaki GPZ parts are ok currency too! Laughing

I have the bikes all chained together, TTR rear wheel to the pit bike rear wheel, another chain from the pit bikes front wheel through the cubs front wheel and the MT5's front wheel, then another chain from that wheel to my dads Varadero. A bit excessive but it's OK.

The GPZ lives in the garden, anyone that manages to get past the spikes on the walls not only deserves a hand shake but can have the bike. We have spikes fitted because the garden backs up to an electricity thing, the council fitted spikes to stop people getting into the electric thing and just happened to have some offcuts that were the right size for our garden wall. I think mother offering them tea helped them find the off-cuts that just happen to fit perfectly.

I just discovered the YX140 engine has no oil filter! Shocked

Sam told me that he changed the oil every 5 hours, which seemed excessive at the time, but now perfectly reasonable. Is there a way of fitting an oil filter somehow or am I doomed to go without?

There should be an oil strainer that catches bits of swarf under the oil filler engine case.

If I got one of these:

Where would I stick that big grey box on a pit bike? Anyone any ideas? Anyone seen one before?

7/8 but not a lot of space on the bars really left for a horn.

Talking of Iain, look what turned up in the post today with some bolts for my GPZ:
