Have spent this weekend tarting up my first big bike.. a Hornet 2001. Was very grubby with lots of stickers I hated plus had a stubby carbon exhaust that was a bit too loud for me. Swapped it out for the original exhaust which I got with the sale, I just prefer the look (so I have the other for sale if anyone interested?! (first photo))

Mods to date
Gold Renthal Handlebars
Gold brake fluid reservoir lid
CB1000R Mirrors (by me)
Goodridge Brake Hoses
Scorpian radiator cover
Indicator alarm
Crash Bungs
Screen
Yellow engine hoses
Carbon effect front & rear indicators
Removed mudguard & raised number plate

Work Planned
Rear Hugger
Polishing downpipes
New tail tidy or indicators as standard exhaust fouling the rear right indicator Mad
Belly Pan
Front mudguard extender
New taller, darker screen if i can find one, as the wind just hits me in the face with this existing one!

Yeah its the Y Anchor. Me and my mate relandscaped the whole garden and cemented that in and put a wider gate at the back for better access. It leaves me with a nice spot in front of the shed of tools to work on my bike. The wife loves it Shocked , so much so ive taken a photo of saturday to remind her! She says shes married her dad who's got a garage with pit and a shit ton of bikes.. Im not quite there.. Yet..

Yeah i wouldn't mind an aftermarket one that looks similar tho as there is zero sound with this one but i dont have the money for that yet. Ideally one on each side to even it up.

On topic of exhaust, the stubby had a bracket that clamped round the link pipe but the original just slotted straight on, is that right? Also didnt have or use a gasket but i dont hear any noise to indicate there os a problem.

Looking good Doom, I agree on the zaust, Prefer the original to the stubby. Seen quite a few Hornets with the scorpion cans and they look nice as they are similar size to the original.

Oh yeah, didnt realise your side panel was off. I'd take £40 + p&p unless paddy makes a counter offer Smile just have to find a box big enough at work to fit it in and quote the postage.

That standard exhaust is vile, much preferred the stubby one, but if it was mine I'd be looking at a medium sized can.

But its not my bike, its yours. Looks good, enjoy it Thumbs Up

I do believe Mivv make a similar shaped one called the X-Cone if you want the same style.

FWIW I prefer the stubby Laughing

Cheers mate, looks quite nice those. Bit skinny but has the pipe running right to the body. I dont really like the thick cans with a skinny pipe you can see running down a inches before it disappears to the link pipe. Can you buy thicker heatsheilds to cover them?

I might be talking like an old person, but I would not have an open performance pipe on an original Hornet unless it kept the nice OEM heat shield, or was a nice Titanium megaphone shape pipe that fitted like the stock pipe does.

Stubby can's are a massive fail looks wise!
