1st mod so small there's barely any point in posting but I put some trim around my tank. Very subtle but I like it. Got a black hugger & fender extender to put on when some replacements for rounded bolts come.

After

On the cards when I get some funds

- Polished downpipes (need to find a spare afternoon!)
- Mivv X Cone Exhaust
- Forks, stay, yokes, grab handle, swing arm & hangers powder coated. I'm thinking about black
- Spring powder coated yellow

Yeah but I like the look.. I dont really like a chunky can with a small pipe coming out of it. I prefer a continous cone like the original just not as bad. Plus want a road safe one.

That price does look good tho!

Not updated for a while. Fender extender and hugger has been on for a couple of months...

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/TOOMZ/imagejpg1-2.jpg

Stripped the rad and fan off today to give them a good clean and paint them up as they were looking a bit tired. Also gave me the opportunity to give the downpipes a good going over. Still got some more wire wheel to get in the hard to reach areas then polish up with autosol. Really pleased with how they turned out.. Before

Got some wire brush attachments off ebay and stick them in the drill and just rub for a couple of hours. Going to use some fine wire wool tomorrow and autosol to polish them up more as theyre a bit brushed looking at the mo.

Would probably recommend getting the pipes off first as its hard to reach some areas but i didnt want to risk snappin any studs off, so this will do for now. Want to try and paint the brackets as theyrr only mild steel but not sure i can reach

All back together.. fresh looking rad and polished pipes. Could have done a better job, perhaps with a different sandpaper between the wire wheel and the 0000 wire wool but i'm happy with it. Don't want them showroom.. too hard to keep on top of.

Why do you have a shed, then keep the bike in the garden? Why not put the bike in the shed?

Its too small for the bike. Couldnt have a bigger shed due to position of alley and gate and wouldnt have enough room to turn it round. Plus the mrs wouldnt let me take over that much garden!

Cheers mate... looking back, i don't mind it as much now! Laughing

Shiny new sprockets, sprocket nuts and rear disc gone on today... then it pissed on me so couldn't get the wheel on and try the chain again. Had massive plans for chain, drilling out calliper bolts and stripping front end for powder coat. Oh well, next weekend it is!

Personally high level exhausts don't float my boat. Terrible design, especially if you like loading up the panniers, the tent, and everything but the kitchen sink when rallying and the like.

I personally like stubby cans, but in ali finish, not carbon. Thumbs Up

Good work on the downpipes... thats a job to do on mine probably next winter. Need to make a bit more space in the garage first to work on it.

Where did you get that tank trim from?

Front end stripped down for fork rebuild and some powder coating.. rather precariously i might add Very Happy

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/TOOMZ/IMG_2201.jpg

Forks stripped and ready to go off. Bottled stripping the yokes out so did the headlight bracket and bottom yoke whilst on the bike with some hammerite... happy with the result and tempted to do the forks myself now.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/TOOMZ/A6F7679D-1A16-4AFF-B549-712144FE8E98.jpg

Also sprayed the headlight surround. Just need to do top yoke and clocks before attempting the actual fork build Confused

First round of parts gone on today, really like how the clocks and headlight look in black. Just realised now though that the calipers are going to look a bit shit next to all this new black! Made a start building the forks but couldnt fashion a seal driver out of some pvc.. Will give it another go tomorrow unless someone local has one i can borrow Very Happy
